We were charged an outrageous amount of money and the room was TINY and uncomfortable. Ralph (the owner or manager-whatever!) was rude, condesending and a liar. He charged us one price and the people right next to us 150.00 less. He seemed to charge whatever he felt like. His advertisement at the time claimed "view of ocean from all rooms". Bull. All our room overlooked was the parking lot next door. Parking at his hotel seems to be for him-his wife-his brother and his friends. When I asked where I would be able to park-being a HIGHLY paid customer, I was told I could park outside of the front gate. Nice way to do business. There were apartments in the complex also-there was one next to my room and it was occupied by some of his staff. Well-Ralph and some of his staff went out one night and came back to the hotel drunk and so loud it was pathetic. It was three oclock in the morning and they were yelling and screaming at each other right outside of my window. To make matters worse-I couldnt even enjoy my breakfast in peace. I had gone to the restaurant across the street and guess who comes in? Ralph, his brother, their wives, their "kids"-they let the kids run wild all over the restaurant bothering everyone in sight. Finally after I had been bothered for a good twenty minutes I told one of them to get the rest of them and get back with their parents where they belonged. The waitress apologized and said the kids were always let loose like that by their parents. What a shame that entire weekend was. You couldn't pick a worse place in all of Misquamicut. Believe me-go anywhere but there!

Sandy Shore was a pleasant place to stay. We have come now for 3 years and always enjoy the location and newly refurbished rooms. I love the bananna boats and water trampoline. Misquamicut has never been more beautiful and there are so many activities that the Misquamicut Business Association presents. Fall and spring are nice there too.

Excellent vactioning at Sandy Shore. Sandy Shore, and "Rocco's grill" are the best of the Misquamicut beach. Also, this is the only hotel on the beach with banana boat rides, water trampolines, and excellent service. Managament really makes you feel at home.

Prior to our arrival we ran into quite the little mix-up with what we were actually paying for and what the conformation stated, after two phone calls to Ralph he was gracious enought to follow through on what wer were told we were getting for what we paid. Upon arrival we did however notice that the price went up about $150.00 in which i refused to pay and it was agreed to privide with the accomodations that the price was set for, besides that we really had no other complaints. Rooms were clean towels were small and everyone was very friendly and helpful. Would def. venture back again.....

If you are "old timers" at Sandy Shore and you are expecting the level of comfort, honesty and hospitality experienced when Thom and Gail owned it you can forget it. The new owner is in it for the money. He will say anything to hook you and then recant it all once you pay your money. The old saying "you can't go home again" is especially true in this case. Pretty much the only truths that came out of that man's mouth was that he remodeled and he has a great housekeeping staff. Vicki if you are reading this, that would be YOU I am referring to!!!!!!!! You do TOO much and I hope you keep your eyes wide open. Ralph, you are not as sly as you think. We all have your number down pat. You cannot rip people off and lie to them and expect repeat business. For those of you contemplating a visit to Sandy Shore...plan it early and get everything Ralph, aka Rocco says to you in writing. Make him mail to you exactly what you have agreed on. If you don't then you will hear things such as "I didn't say there was, I said we could" and my all time favorite was the promise on the initial call and then in person "Don't worry, we will work it out" and then "Don't you worry your pretty little head it will not be a problem". 3 hours later..."No, I said we would see what we could do and it can't happen...the rules are rules. Move it now or it will be towed." 5 minutes later..."is it still there? I'm calling the tow truck". 10 minutes and $20.00 later it's moved. Yes Ralph, if you are reading this you now KNOW exactly who is writing this. YOU know I told you ahead of time and you know you conned me. You also ruined the last three days of what was supposed to be a great vacation but instead turned into a very tense three days. Oh and by the way...when I checked out I did not owe 39. more dollars that you so "graciously" reversed...YOU OWED ME that amount as an overpayment but I did not realize it until I looked at the receipt I had to ask for. What goes around comes around Ralph...I'm betting a good share of Thom and Gail's "friends" as we all were to them will not be returning after their first visit to Sandy Shore. I know we won't be back.
