It's been about a year since our disasterous experience with the Hotel and its' staff. We had stayed a couple times previous and found it quite nice, especially in the new suites building. We were coming in on a Sunday for three nites, there was a playoff game so I called ahead and requested an early arrival and was told to call back they would see what they could do as it had been a full house weekend and we were requesting a specific room type. I called back a couple hours later, mentioned that we were only looking for an hour, the woman on the reservations line was very rude saying if we wanted to come on down they would try but not to have great expectations. So we arrived at about 2:15 for a regular 3pm arrival only to be told by the same woman, oh its you, we have nothing ready, there is a sports bar across the street where you can watch the game and get a drink. Now you have to be out of your room for 10am, they have a staff person on each floor for the changeover, you can't tell me they couldn't have asked for our room to be prepped??????Not to mention that the room wouldn't be ready for 3pm maybe by 4?????So we sat and waited in their bar which of course was closed off season after all and waited while she glared at us, until 3 o'clock which thank god brought a shift change and a desk clerk with some customer service skills who assured us the problem would be addressed immediately. Within 10 minutes we had keys to our room and a follow-up call of apology and yes they had received complaints about our other clerk. To our surprise there were several things broken in the room, we had problems with the cable service which required calling someone in on his day off. We called to see if the roof top area was open and were told it was not, ice????So we went to use the indoor pool and there was so much chlorine in the pool that you couldn't stay in the room never mind go in the water, which another poor guest's wife had, she was bright red and blood shot eyes from exposure. So we thought we would at least go to the roof for the view and lo and behold the area was open, firepit lit and people enjoying the hot tub!!!!! Just one thing after another. Its really unfortunate that a facility with this kind of potential cannot be properly maintained and staffed. In defense of the floor staff they were helpful and accomodating, as was the poor guy that had to come and fix our cable. Was dissapointed to the point of adding this to our never return list.
