“Flametree Caravan Park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2013

We recently stayed at Flametree Tourist Village and it has been one of the friendliest most enjoyable parks that we have found whilst travelling around Australia. The Browne family who own and run the park couldn't do enough for us - they arranged and recommended the best tours to suit our family and the tour picked us up too. We ended up doing a couple of day trips on our week stay and they looked after our dog for free on both days :) Couldn't ask for better service :)

After reading the recent reviews about the noise from the airport I couldn't disagree more. The planes only go if there is a tour and they never started before 8am or finished later then 5.30pm. We found them fascinating. Also it has been one of the quietest parks with more noise from the wildlife then anything else.

Thanks again for the great stay and we are looking at coming back soon to enjoy your beautiful warm winter :)

The Flametree Caravan Park is set in beautiful tropical gardens. The owners were extremely helpful, amenities (apart from the laundry) were very clean and the park quite spacious. Sadly the noise from planes at the airport next door and 5.30 am traffic noise going to Shute Hbr. was really bad. Would not go back.

Dj Velo good to hear that you enjoyed the park setting and the service from the staff all round. There is little that we can do regarding the adjacent airport however we find as there is no night time noise the park is very quiet when you want to sleep and many people enjoy watching the planes go bye as well. Sorry to hear that you wont be back though.

We stayed for 4 nights and although the park is nicely set out it is a tad noisy with the airport right behind the park ( small planes only ) and the garbage truck at the crack of dawn ( twice during our stay!) And the laundry in full swing at midnight. . The staff were very friendly and helpful with local information. Also the water used in the park is treated bore water, so I would suggest you bring your drinking water as it tastes foul ( even after boiling).

Great park, Staff very friendly and helpful. We got to choose our own site. Beautiful tropical setting. Next door to airport but not noisy. All amenities very good. Although a few k,s out of town, only a few minutes drive to main street

My husband and I stayed for 14 days here, we found it to be very quite could not hear the cars even though it's on the main road. As for the airport being next door was no bother to us I quite enjoyed the small planes landing and taking of and by 5.00pm no planes landed. loved all the bird life here with plenty of tree shade and not messy trees either. the amenites a very clean, yes toilet bowls are stained but that's not there fault when the water is not the best, so I would suggested to drink bottled water not just at this caravan park but for the whole of Airlie beach.
Friendly staff, definitely be coming back. Bus right out side at door stop.

I stayed in one of the onsuite cabins which are small but would be good for a couple. There are limited cooking facilities in the cabin but you can cook small meals ok and there is a communal bbq to use as well.

The rest of the facilities are quite nice and the gardens make the place blend in to the tropical surounds.

Would recommend to all including travelling tradies.

My Wife and I stayed here during our trip through Queensland, Far enough from the town to still feel rural but close enough to hop on a bus and grab a few drinks or food.

Staff are fantastic and very helpfull and will arrange any trips you require out to the Whitsundays or the Barrier Reef. We turned up a bit late on our first night but the owner came and let me in where most sites would of been closed or simply told me i was to late.

Facilities are excellent and very clean and the camp kitchen was very usefull.
