Benefited from an interesting offer at 80 AUD per night for a "top-tree" studio (in fact a little less since the proprietary had no change, I think he offered me a discount of 2 AUD per night in final). This was a pretty good value for I what I consider a pretty average stay. First, the location of the resort is so-so, pro it is in front of a supermarket but con you will need to take a bus (5 min ride, 2.80 AUD for 2 hours) to get into town. The resort itself has a nice garden, and what seems to be a nice pool but I did not use it so cannot say much about it.
On the other hand, the studio room I had was pretty average: it was quite small and its biggest problem was the complete lack of storage spaces (except 4 hangers below the TV and a small plastic step stool and that was it). Room was relatively clean, bed and bedsheets clean but could find some dust in some parts. Bathroom was tiny but clean. Also consider rooms are not serviced during your stay (they are only serviced once a week), so this hotel does not really deliver a hotel experience but it is more a self catered one. Reception closes quite early (around 6pm) and there is no direct line into the rooms, so you will not be able to speak with your relatives after this hour (except if they unfortunaley wake up the owners).
Overall a pretty average stay but OK for the money. And Airlie beach is completely pointless, go as quickly as possible for the gorgeous cruises to the Reef and Whitehaven!

Thank you for your comments, Yes we are 1.5km from the main street and we do service the units weekly not daily, a daily service is available on request but incurs a charge, we could not offer $80 per night rooms if serviced daily and the vast majority of our guests prefer to take advantage of the very cheap rates and use the washing machine & dryer in every room.

The studio you booked is a bit larger than a motel room but has it's own kitchenette etc, our much larger poolside apartments are only a few $'s per night more, so we leave it to each guest to decide which way to book.
Cleanliness comment is a bother as we pride ourselves on this and our recent AAA rating gave us 99/100, but I will pass on your concerns to the cleaning staff.
By your comments regarding Airlie Beach in general you didn't like the place at all, Airlie is advertised as the "Gateway to the Whitsundays" and of course exists as a tourist destination because of the reef and the islands so hopefully you enjoyed your trips to them.
Again thanks for taking the time to write
