This was our second experience at the Jamestown Tavern. First experience, in the Fall of 2012, was very good - good food, good portions and excellent prices. Returned last evening for a quick bite and the experience was very different. The physical place is the same - nothing much to speak of- it's mostly a bar-type atmosphere - wobbly tables, vinyl table cloths, etc. However, there were some changes and not for the better. Ordered pinot grigio and was served chardonney (they had no other white wines), service was poor, a very limited menu and it took a very long time for the food to be served. Appetizers were wings and salads and for entrees, baked flounder was unavailable although they could serve fish & chips made with flounder! A bit confusing! They said they had a new chef and that is why they had such a limited menu. Husband had chicken over linguine and I had grilled chicken sandwich and both were excellent. So, overall, good food but poor service and selection. Hopefully the service and selection will improve along with an expanded menu.
