“My first bnb of my trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2008

I was a lone traveler and Donna made me feel very comfortable. She gave me great ideas about where to go for dinner and what to see in the immediate area. I could walk to everything! The room I stayed in (the Lighthouse Room) was very comfortable and clean. The bathroom was all up-to-date and the sheets were 600 thread count--soooo comfy. I asked for non-feather pillows and the ones provided were very comfortable. I would have like to have seen more "atmosphere" in the common areas (living and dining room), the windows only had pleated shades on them and there was little to no ornamentation on the walls. T he breakfast was a simple waffle and fruit with some homemade (I am assuming) muffins. Everything was tasty and satisfying. Looking back on my trip, I felt that the price was a little high for what was offered. This b&b was the most expensive of my trip. It's location is excellent for those wanting to spend time in Newport and the surrounding area and I would probably recommend it.

My husband and I found ourselves without our 2 teenagers for 2 days so we spent them in lovely Jamestown, RI. East Bay was perfect for our get-away. A personal note left on the door upon our arrival, easy parking, a very comfy private room & bath(plenty of towels) and yummy food cooked to order each morning. Great location for walking to dock, restaurants, etc. Plenty of nice details-tv, dvds in hallway, fans, a/c, heater, games, books, information on local activities-you name it-you'll find it there. Very comfortable place, great talking with other guests, very warm, generous owners and best of all, a cat at the end of the bed-just like home! (only if you choose). If you are looking for a private, peaceful spot, look no further than East Bay B&B.

Fantastic, Great. rooms, Delicious breakfast

Greg & Donna made you feel right at home with there warm hospitality. Our room was perfect, with all the immunities of a hotel, only much more personable. They made our stay in RI an enjoyable one Thank you Greg & Donna. Our next trip to RI we will be sure to stay at East Bay.. Very nice experience.

One of the best things about our job is all the fantastic people we meet. These guests were a pure joy to have in our home and are welcome anytime! We are so pleased they enjoyed their time with us.

The location of the B & B is perfect...quiet, short walk to ferry and restaurants. The room is small with a comfortable bed. The TV is very small and difficult to watch; however the Inn has a sizable and very good collection of DVD's. Only one chair is provided in the room. There is a second chair in the bathroom used for towel storage. The breakfast is pleasant but not exciting. Pastries are good. The breakfast room does not have a fan or ac so it is really very uncomfortable on a warm, humid morning. The Inn Keepers are helpful and pleasant. Compared to other stays in similar locations, the room and amenities for a weeknight stay are a little over priced. We did however enjoy our stay and with minimal changes the Inn would be worth the price charged.

We appreciate this guest's feedback but are disappointed that nothing was said while they had their 2-night stay in our LIghthouse Room. They did leave a note at departure saying they would have liked a desk and chair in their room, and a fan in the dining room. However, they did not ask for these items while they were here which does not give us the opportunity to address these issues for them.

Our Lighthouse Room is approximately 14x12 with a large ensuite bathroom. The room features a queen size bed, tall dresser with mirror, 2 nightstands, and arm chair. We do not believe there is enough room for an additional chair and desk - that would make the room very cramped and "small". But we would have been more than happy to provide an additional chair for their use, if they had told us they needed one. We do offer our Dining Room, Living Room and Front Porch, all with ample space, to guests as common areas to use and enjoy as they wish, These guests were shown these areas and told so at check-in.

We have operated this business for 5 years and know that we offer a product and service that is priced accordingly. We are the only b&b in Jamestown to offer as many amenities and guest services as we do. We do also want to point out that this guest did return a day after check-out to purchase discount tickets for an area attraction. They liked us enough to take advantage of our guest services even after check-out and find it unfair to not have talked with us while they were here.

Our enjoyable visit to Jamestown was enhanced by the opportunity to stay several nights at East Bay Bed and Breakfast. From the delightful rooms to the wonderfully prepared breakfasts, our family truly enjoyed the hospitality of Greg and Donna. We hope to return for another visit, even though we won't have a wedding to attend as our excuse. Thanks.

My wife Lisa and I stayed at the East Bay BnB for 3 nights, June 29th through July 2nd 2008. We stayed in the Bayside room which was wonderful. We took advantage of the all day pass on the Jamestown/Newport Ferry which we really enjoyed. The East Bay BnB was a short walk from the local restaurants and the dock of the ferry. The breakfasts at the BnB were great. Waffles one morning, Pancakes the next, and Egg cooked to order the last day. Fresh fruit was served with each as well as coffee, tea, and various juices. Donna and Greg made us feel very welcome. We are "cat people' and the BnB cat came to visit us a couple of time. We enjoyed his visits.

My husband and I stayed at the East Bay Bed and Breakfast for the first time in June 2007 to attend our son's wedding to a wonderful young woman from Jamestown. Donna was away during our stay, but Greg made us feel welcomed and relaxed for the big event. The guest rooms in this beautiful Victorian home are a treat for the eyes and include every need for a enjoyable stay (from luxurious sheets on comfortable queen-sized beds, plush towels and robes to satellite TV with a DVD/CD player and access to movies and games from Donna and Greg's collection. They provide a variety of brochures with information regarding the sights and attractions of scenic Rhode Island. The setting for the East Bay B&B is on a quiet side street and within walking distance to the Atlantic, as well as local shops and restaurants. The homemade breakfast at East Bay is fresh and delicious. As cat owners, we were delighted to seek out and spend time with Luxor the cat.

We returned to East Bay B&B in April 2008 to attend another wedding in our "new family" and met Donna. Once again, we felt the instant warmth that greeted us as soon as we reached the front door. We had an unplanned visit to the Newport Hospital and the concern shown by both Donna and Greg was heartwarming. They offered us the opportunity to spend another night with them (at no cost ) before we traveled back to our home. Priceless!

Although there are no Jamestown weddings in our future, we look forward to another relaxing and refreshing stay with Donna and Greg at East Bay Bed & Breakfast.

We are so glad these guests are doing well and were happy to help out in any way we could during their stay. Even though they don't have any more Jamestown weddings, we hope to see them again. They are welcome anytime!
