Having never been to the area the GF, Short Stack, and I were looking for some food to fill our empty stomachs. We found Davenport’s boasting fun food and family. We parked near the handicapped parking as the GF still has a busted ankle. After walking and pushing her in her wheelchair all the way around the building, we finally found the entrance. Where two members of Davenport’s stood and watched Short Stack (he is 5) struggle to open the door so I could push my GF threw the door. None of them moved to help, get the door or even give us a nod of a hello. Once we got seated, our waiter was attentive but much to my GF annoyance paid attention to me and hardly listened to her. On the flip side he did listen to Short Stack’s story about Mario.
The food was typical fast food chain stuff with nothing that wowed us on the menu. The GF ordered a chicken pot pie, and she liked it but… it was mostly gravy on the inside with very little substance. Short Stack ordered a grilled cheese and applesauce. He ate it all, that might be due to that he didn’t eat much during the day. I had a cheeseburger that had fried onions on it. The food was alright, but nothing that justified the price.
The restaurant was noisy and the GF and I found that we talked to each other less and listened more to the people around us. It was more a dinner and a show, between one family complaining about how the government takes money from the college attending grandchild and the two middle aged woman complaining that her husband does nothing for her now and that she has been staying home to be a caregiver and that he looks tired, worn out, fat and out of shape. While all of this was pathetic and sad it really took from our family supper.
If we ever came back to the area again, I doubt very much if we would be back
