We have eaten dinner several times at Dante's Kitchen over the past few weeks and have had great fun each time. It is BYOB at the moment, which really adds to the reasonability of the prices. The menu has a spicy, Southern comfort theme and everything we have sampled has been excellent, including the off-theme Caesar salad, which is on a par or better than what you will find at many Italian restaurants. The fried green tomato tower was delicate and tasty, as were the crispy oysters. My son swears by the hamburger, and especially the french fries, while his cousins like the waffles and chicken. Others in the group had the seared chicken and the shepherd's pie and enjoyed both. I sampled the mashed potatoes that topped the shepherd's pie and agree that they were tasty indeed. My favorite is the grilled shrimp over dirty rice - the shrimp was delicate and there was just enough (but not too much) spice. In addition, the pork loin is excellent and the portion is very generous! The staff is always friendly and make you feel like part of the family. By the way, I hear the breakfast is excellent, but I have not been there for the pancakes yet. All in all, a great addition to East Greenwich. Puts The Grille to shame . . .
