We were visiting New England for the first time and after trying chain Hotels we wanted to find out what a Motel was really like. The Surfside is a basic Motel, but it is clean and quiet. East room has a microwave and a refrigerator. What made it for us was the helpful Manager, Loretta, who was always there when we needed advice. We were sent to a great place to eat in the evening (The Cove - within walking distance) and shown where to get great breakfasts (The Hungry Haven - at the Junction of Rte. 1/112) We only had a few yards walk to watch the Memorial Day parade. We felt we were part of the local community. Loretta was a great character and if you have a particular interest will search out all the information for you. We enjoyed a good, relaxing four nights at the Surfside. Good shower and the bed was always made for us daily with clean towels provided for the shower as well as soap, shampoo and condition. Thanks Loretta.

This is our third visit here and we were again very pleased. The rooms are very clean and well attended to and the location to the highway and the beach makes this hotel a great place to stay. Loretta is a great asset; she's very knowledgeable, pleasant, and made our stay very enjoyable. She was always available to answer our questions and very accommodating to whatever we needed. We had a great time and we'll be back!!

We stayed at Surfside last weekend. We knew they had fire places on the lawn last year but they were not out yet. I asked Loretta about it and we soon had a fire place in front of our room. I asked Loretta if there were any electric skillets to cook eggs on she said no but sent out for one which we received two hours late the night before we were ready to cook. They have grills on the lawn for other cooking. Loretta is very attentive and will ask you often if she can do anything for you. This house keeper is the only one I have ever sen that looks out for you and want to do anything she can to make your stay pleasant. The rooms are good enough and Loretta keeps them very clean.‎

The staff was extremely accomodating, and the amenities such as gas grills and outdoor fire pits were very enjoyable. We were in an efficiency unit and forgot to bring a griddle. When we asked, an electric griddle showed up in our room in a few hours. In particular, our housekkeeper Loretta went above and beyond to be certain our stay was enjoyable. When visiting the beach in southern RI this is the only place to stay!

We were really impressed with the cleanliness of the rooms, ""EVERY DAY" the housekeeper Loretta was great, super attentive, helpful and seemed to be available at a moments notice, My wife & I had to stay at the Surfside due to the floods, at the end of an exhausting day it was a great relief to return to a clean room with comfortable beds, kitchenette, spotless bath, The stay was hassel free, and a tribute to the management.

We were on a three weeks trip through NY State, Pennsylvania & Ohio. We had booked nothing in advance (except for NYC) and always found a suitable place to stay -but the surf side motel was the niced one, near to the ocean and - last but not least - the most polite and perfect attendants: especially we have to mention LORETTA.
