We stopped here for lunch the other day. We were out for a bikeride around the island and this was close by. Nothing fancy but their clam chowder is amazing!!! It was fun to watch the planes come in and take off while eating lunch. Something different when you do not want to be at the beach.
Go for the full throttle! You get a little bit of everything, and everything is delicious. We love watching the planes take off and land while eating a great breakfast.
My husband and I found this place when we took a ten mile walking tour and got caught in a downpour! What a lucky find...award-winning clam chowder was wonderful, but get there early because they run out!
Bethany's Airport Diner, located in the terminal at Block Island Airport, is a quick 10 minute island getaway from the hustle and bustle of the mainland. Food and service are average, but it's a great place for pilots to meet and greet. Hopefully, the red wood airplane that offered diversion for children and a great photo op will be returned in the future.
Ok, it's a diner. It's not a 5 diamond Mobil guide listing. But for breakfast or lunch, it's my favorite. And the landing and departing planes are the side show. Best breakfast that I had at Bethany's was pastrami-laced pancakes with walnut/blueberry topping. Unparalleled!
