W can't comment on the food, as we never got to eat!! We had enjoyed a beautiful Sunday bike ride all over the island, and at the end of our tour decided to bike over to the Beachhead for lunch before heading home on the ferry. We could have gone anywhere to eat but liked their location. The six of us decided to wait for a outside table(about 20-30 min. wait we were told by the hostess)and went inside and we all ordered beers. We sat at the bar and waited patiently and quietly for a table. After about 30 min. we saw them setting up the two large tables on the porch , either of which would accomodate us. A couple of us went to check on them and were told one was for a group waiting longer than us(maybe) and the other was for these two women who, we were told, called ahead(doubtful). From what we observed they just sat down at the six-top and the hostess didn't want to be the one to tell them to leave, we suspect. (there were several four-tops on the porch available). It had been set for six(us) but we saw them change it when these women sat down. They then tried to seat us at this little bar thing with stools-we'd been sitting on stools for a half hour waiting. When we questioned them about our table they made-up excuses and no one wanted to deal wih us. It was as if it was our mistake! We followed the rules, and they didn't. Why not just say it was their mistake? The waitress was rude, telling us we made the hostess feel bad, while she was getting ready to seat us at the weird counter!! Needless to say we ended up leaving. The owner/manager(?)came over and we explined again what happened. She finally admitted the hostess made a mistake, and offered to buy us all lunch. But none of us wanted to chance it!! We ended up at the National Hotel with a lovely table on the beautiful deck. No waiting, good service, decent food and a great view!
