Very enjoyable afternoon hanging out on the beach. We rented some chairs and plopped down on the sand for a few hours before heading back to the mainland. Waitresses were very good in dealing with a few hundred needy peple on the beach. They are all from different parts of the world, too. Sort of a built in trivia game of where is that accent from. Live music starts around 2pm. I have eaten here in the past. It is OK. Not great or anything. Beach pub food. We prefer to go to the National Hotel or if it is CRAZY hot then the air conditioning of the Mohegan Cafe and Brewery. Both are very nearby and we just leave our towels, etc at the chairs and head over.
The place goes from rated G to PG-13 pretty quick especially around the fourth of July. By late afternoon, you may wish your kids were elsewhere. But kids are pretty oblivious to what is happening around them. But again, it was the eve of the fourth of July so you would expect to have most people enjoying their time on the island.
