“we love our pet-friendlies....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2012

The most important factor for us is pet-friendly, and The Gothic Inn is one of a few on the island available. The building itself is well-aged, and the rooms are small without alot of extras. But that's not why we're there. Block Island is beautiful for walking around with our dog and enjoying the local businesses, restaurants and people. Alton, the manager, was so friendly and helpful, and the owners are so cute, and also very friendly. And they are animal lovers too. Plus, its very well located a 5 minute walk from Old Harbor. We won't hesitate to book our next stay at The Gothic Inn!

Room Tip: main building is hostel style - small rooms with shared bathrooms. 3rd floor has amazing views. side...

“Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2012

Just back from 6 nights with my boyfiend and dog and had a lovely stay. The apartments are cozy and clean. Not keen on shared bathrooms so not sure what the main house rooms are like. Alton did a nice job running things and the owners are personable and nice. You're just out of town, surrounded by cool shops, decent restaurants, rock & roll bars and a nice little beach that's dog friendly. Nice and relaxing.

“Not bad and dog friendly”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2012

I've stayed here twice mainly because it is dog friendly, I was surprised to see it got such terrible reviews. Yes it's a bit warn, but in general clean and a good location minutes from the beach etc. You can also see the water from the rooms I've stayed in. As far as the no AC thing, I don't think many places on BI have AC...and it never really felt hot enough to need it since there was always a breeze off of the water. The front lawn is also very large and you can just sit out there relaxing in the adirondack chairs. Breakfast was simple but good. I found the bed to be comfortable. One real complaint is that there tends to be some noise at night on Friday and Saturday, so if you are an early bird this may bother you.

I'm going back for a girls weekend in August and I am looking forward to it!

“Adorable and Affordable B & B”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2012

First off, Block Island is such a wonderful place in itself that I do not think it matters where you shack up…just as long as you’re there. My husband and I chose the Gothic Inn, mainly because it was within our price range and dog-friendly. However, we got much more than we thought. We stayed in one of the four guesthouse apartments, which had one large room with queen bed, pull out sofa, TV and a large private bathroom. We stayed in September, so the weather was just about perfect. No air conditioner or heat needed. The bed slept well, the water ran hot and the breakfast was simple but good. There is a beautiful view of the ocean from the back porch of the inn, where you can sip your coffee and take in the fresh air. Crescent beach is just a two minute walk from the inn, and the harbor town (and ferry) is also just a few-minutes’ walk away.

Room Tip: If you're traveling with pets, you'll need to reserve a guesthouse apartment. Pets are not...

“Well worn but comfortable and worth it!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2011

It's the people that make the place...the owner Ben, the Innkeeper Cindy and the House keeper Ceyonie all went out of their way to be sure we had everything we needed. Everything's well worn, but very clean. Breakfast from hardboiled eggs to finely chopped Mellon and yogurt. We'll be back.
