“Great place if you are doing family week at Caron Foundation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2014

We loved the location, and the rooms were clean and well kept. The bed was comfy. Close to Caron Foundation and great rate. I dont like this part...says that I have to use 200 characters...so, I will just keep on writing until I have used up all the characters...

First floor handicap rooms shower floods the entire bathroom. It is proorly designed that allows water to flow into the bathroom floor and collect there. It even enters the room onto the carpet. If you have no need to have a handicap room, make sure the hotel doesn't assign you one. My experience is that they use these rooms when they don't have enough rooms.

Hotel was nearly sold out upon our arrival. However the staff were exceptionally helpful in assisting us with a speedy check in, after we told our reservations did not exist. The hotel was centrally located to the city of Reading (my home town), West Reading, Vanity Fair, Berkshire Mall and the Reading Farmers Market (located near the Fairground Square Mall). The only complaint is the mattress was too soft and I ended up with a back ache.

Hotel was clean and everything was nice. Liked the lobby. Stayed with my daughters travel softball team. The girls all liked the pool. The lobby area was large enough for our group along with others to set and talk with each other each night. Breakfast was as good as any normal complementary breakfast. Liked that they kept coffee and tea out all day along with fruit. Staff was nice.

Hampton Inns are a consistent choice on the road. Always know what you will get with them. This was no different. Clean room, clean hotel, and excellent breakfast area. Kids really enjoy the complimentary hot chocolate!! Only issue during stay was pool wasn't being heated until we asked.

PROS:

1. Clean and well decorated room.
2. Large counter space around sink.
3. Desk & chair.
4. Free Wi-Fi in room.
5. Spacious room.
6. Very nice indoor pool with plenty of lounge chairs.
7. Friendly staff.
8. Nice lobby
9. Hotel has elevators.
10. Free parking.
11. Excellent, free hot breakfast, however, getting a table was a challenge. Not enough seating.
12. Many restaurants nearby – within a 5 min drive.
13. If you are going to World War II Weekend in June, this is a great place to stay. It’s only a 15 minute drive from the hotel.

CONS:

1. The sink is inside of the bathroom – inconvenient for two people getting dressed in the morning.
2. Counter space around sink was small.
3. Fairly small closet – inconvenient. Located across from bathroom.

Recommendation: Reasonably priced, clean and convenient hotel. I plan to stay here again.

My Wife and I visit the Reading area about twice a year for Berks jazz concerts on average and always stay at this Hotel. We experience a consistently comfortable, clean and quiet stay. From the front desk check in process to buffet and housekeeping staff all are pleasant and professional. This property is very centrally located to restaurants, shopping and concert venues.
