“Good food, not so good servers”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013 via mobile

Small place but the food is wonderful & different. However the servers need to pay more attention to the customers & be more friendly.

“A huge disappointment with serious food quality issues.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2013 via mobile

This place used to have good food, and fair service. It has definitely went down hill. Today my wife and I went at 1130 on a Sunday morning. Being that its a block from a church, it used to have lines out the door. But today only 4 tables in the whole place were in use when we got there. The waitress promptly brought coffee and then never returned. After tracking her down 15 mins later, she said because our menus were shut she forgot we hadn't ordered. Mind you there were 4 waitresses and 4 tables. My wife ordered the Morning Glory pancakes and sausage. I ordered plain pancakes. The pancakes were decent but the sausage was spoiled. We both tasted it and my wife had to spit it out, there was no doubt it was under refrigerated or way out of code, illegal by the way. So we sent it back, what does our waitress ask "Do you want another". What makes it worse, is that the owner never even came out to apologize, things happen but as a business owner you immediate try to make amends to your customers. Judging by the poor food quality, lack of service, and lack of customers, you might as well board up the place now.

“Something wrong here”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013

Have to give it a zero today. Came in with my wife and college-age daughter. It was after 11 a.m. on Saturday, the place was less than half full. Waitress came over pretty fast, took coffee order and brought coffee order quickly (though no napkins or silver)......and promptly forgot about us. Hard to do as we were in booth closest to kitchen. Odd to watch them ignoring us while setting up empty tables with silver (we still did not have ours). All this time, not a glance over to take our food order (yes, we had menus closed and on the table), not a "be right over", just like we were not there. As I said, the place was not busy, 7 occupied tables and three waitresses. Finally, after 15-20 minutes, my wife and daughter got up to leave, I went to cashier to pay for our coffee, girl behind the counter asked where we were, I showed her and explained no one ever even came to take order and she just said, "you don't have to pay then" (apparently no check had been drawn up for us), and I left.

Food here has been good in past, never got a chance to find out today.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2012

Nice, homey place to have breakfast or lunch with friends....homefries are to die for!!!! The staff does not try to rush you out and they ALWAYS make sure your coffeee is hot and full. Love their pancakes....better than mom's.

“Rude waitresses...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2012

We loved the place. Food was decent and in walking distance. My wife loved our Saturday morning breakfasts. We stopped going simply for the rude waitresses. We know everyone has off days and stuff happens, but 3 times in a row (yes 3 strikes and Joe's is out). Rude, short, sorely, and 'seemed bothered that we were there' are the best adjectives to describe the staff. Final straw was we arrived 40 minutes prior to closing. There were still half dozen tables occupied but apparently the waitstaff was all gathered at the counter ready to leave for the day. We walked in and were greeted with a sneer and "we close soon "(note 40 minutes to go). We turned around and left and haven't been back. That was two years ago.
