“great hotel, lovely scenery”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2011

My husband and I stayed at the Woodlands Inn June of this year. We drove from Canada and really enjoyed the drive with all the lovely scenery.
The check in was quick and very pleasant. The front desk staff were very professional and courteous.
Our room was gorgeous! Big, clean room with beautiful linens! Very nice decor with a lovely view of the creek and the little ducks below. You can sit on the balcony and just listen to the water tickling down the little falls. Very relaxing.
The hotel is very well equiped with a spa, gym, pool and hot tub, not to mention a couple of restaurants and a nightclub!
We ate breakfast every morning at the little breakfast restaurant and it was very nice. Was not a huge buffet, but had enough to please us. There were eggs, sausage, breads and pastries. Make your own waffle station, and a variety of juices, coffees and other things. You will not go hungry!
Couple of the days we also had lunch there. Pub style foods, also some nice lighter fare as well. The best chicken wings!
We wanted to try the oriental/steakhouse as well, but didn't get around to it. next time, as we plan on going back.
We went out for dinner one night and found that the hotel is located in a very convenient spot, close to many ammenities including shopping malls, restaurants and a lovely casino.
All in all , we had a lovely time. The hotel was welcoming, the staff were knowledgable and friendly, the atmosphere was great and we plan on going back in the near future!

My husband and I stayed here for a wedding last weekend. What a beautiful place. There is a nice stream with waterfalls that runs along side of the hotel, great for wedding photos. We stayed in a king room right on the stream. The room was really nice and clean and the bed was great!!. They have a Shogun restaurant, which we got a quick bite to eat before the cocktail hour, which was out on the deck right above the biggest waterfall and ducks below. The reception was in the Grand Ballroom. The food was good at the reception.

Room Tip: ask for a room on the water

Going to the Woodlands is always fun whether you are staying there, going to hear "the Tones," the best oldies band in the region, or sipping your favorite happy hour drink overlooking the roaring the waterfall below the Tiki Bar. Fridays are a blast here where you can watch the ducks below the bar fight over leftovers or preen themselves. The karaoke is hilarious, and don't miss the personal pizza or wings. Drop in on a Sunday night to dance to the Tones. You won't be sorry!

There is a tremendous amount of noise as people walk down the hallway. A majority of the rooms are in one long stretch. There's another area of rooms and maybe that is a little quieter. My room was small, but nice, and the noise from the hallway will wake you up..The gym is excellent considering the size and scope of the hotel. I think it's a little overpriced for what you get.

We travel to Upstate New York every summer. A stop en route at The Woodlands Inn is something our family has come to anticipate with pleasure. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. Outdoor patios are nice places to relax and read. The buffet breakfast is lovely, served in a room with lots of light and views of the nearby stream.
We especially like the Japanese restaurant on site and easy access to other family-friendly spots. The outdoor and indoor pools are great, but the real plus is the large inside jacuzzi pool which is fun for everyone. Staff go out of their way to make guests feel comfortable in this treasure of a spot. We have already planned next year's stop.

Room Tip: Book early for weekends which tend to fill up with groups; weeknights, especially off season, are a...

Check in was easy. Very friendly and helpful staff. Had a queen sized bed in the tower which was fairly small but still nice. Not sure if other queen rooms were similar in size. Free breakfast was good at the restaurant (only Monday - Friday). No bathtub in the room only a large stand up shower, which is my preference. Both the bathroom and the room were clean. The location was nice, within close distance to restaurants and to the casino (one mile). Beautiful views of mountain can be found nearby and creek/stream on the property was pretty as well. Huge jacuzzi too! Good wifi connection for my laptop. My only complaint was noise and the pillows. We had some noisy people on our floor who likely stood outside our door talking for about 10 minutes. The pillows weren't that great.

The hotel on the weekend had a bit of night life, but not unbearable. Overall nice stay, would come back. Good value.
