We stayed on October 31st for our anniversary. We received a phone call stating that we had to use the other steps since a tree had fallen overnight. When we arrived, my wife and I were just blown away. The bears welcoming you up the driveway, in the woods and on the roof of the building. Inside was a great tote bag filled with information and inside our room (Bear room) we had anything you could ask for. A personalized message and a rose wishing us a happy anniversary, to the mini fridge full of snacks and drinks. The fireplace was great as was the hot tub. The shower with its tiled bear motif was awesome. The coolest thing was the fact my wife and I were the only ones at the inn on this evening and it just felt like home. The certificate to the diner was a great way for us to start our trip back home.

Room Tip: You can not go wrong with whatever room you choose. The Bear room we selected on the second floor ha...

My husband and I enjoyed celebrating 25 years of our beautiful life together. Bear Mountain Lodge was amazing.... As we entered the rustic lodge there was a welcoming surprise on the breakfast bar with a note of hello along with an adorable keepsake tote filled with ideas to enjoy our stay. The Lodge and our room was clean, fresh and there was a personal welcoming message and a rose congratulating us on our anniversary. Our room was filled with fresh apples, mouth watering muffins, coffee and tea treats. The refridgerater was filled with water, ice tea, orange juice. Fireplace was romantic.

We hiked everyday a different trail and the west side of the PA Grand Canyon. We would freshen up and stroll thru the town of Wellsboro each evening. The hot tub took away any aches we had from the day. We did not miss TV or Cell Phones.

Thank you Bear Mountain Lodge !!!

Room Tip: We stayed in the White Tail Room and it was private with an outside balcony.

We stayed at the lodge in September for our 10-year anniversary as part of our mini-vacation to explore the PA Grand Canyon, go horseback riding, and shop in the quaint town of Wellsboro. We chose the upstairs room with the private hot tob on the balcony and enjoyed looking at the stars and hearing the sounds of nature in the woods surrounding us. Everything was so thoughtfully and tastefully decorated and very welcoming, from the single rose on our nightstand, to the personalized welcoming (with our names on the sign in our room), the votive candle (battery-operated) flickering in the room when we entered, to the great tote bag that was ours to keep filled with snacks and treats for taking on the hikes, and the gift certificate toward the Wellsboro diner that we used for one of our lunches. We highly recommend this gem in the mountains!!!

Bear Meadows Lodge accomodations and service far exceeded our ecpectations. We stayed in the Hideway during the peak of fall foliage season in early October. The room and service was amazing. The breakfast food they supply is great and we used the certificates to eat at the WellsboroDdiner also. Beautiful location just up the hill from town. Enjoying a few glasses of wine on the deck rocking chairs awaiting sunset was one of our favorites. Views of the valley and mountains in peak color were amazing. I think no other B&B we stay at will ever compare to Bear Meadows Lodge. Also, there was ton's of great activities in the area.

We spent our sixth wedding anniversary at the Bear Meadow Lodge. This was our first trip to Wellsboro and we were looking for something different and relaxing! We found just that! Our room was extremely clean... they add an extra touch to make you feel welcome! The view was beautiful, the hot-tub was relaxing... we definitely plan to return as soon as we can!!!

As others have said, Bear Meadows was a delight! They paid attention to detail in every aspect; The decor was rustic looking but superbly comfortable, from the big fluffy bed to the lounge chair to the cozy robes. We stayed in the Hideaway room which had a big porch with table and chairs and two rocking chairs. Jim, the owner greeted us on arrival and is very nice. The trail snacks were just right and a good complement to the in-room breakfast items. It was nice to be able to have breakfast whenever we wanted. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We would definately recommend this place if your looking for a relaxing get away. Great room, great view and alot of little extras that meant a lot. We will be back again next year. One of the most comfortable beds that I have ever slept in.

Room Tip: The Wilds Room has a private heart shaped hot tub
