“Authentic Chinese Cuisine”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2012

Very nice Chinese food served in a pleasant setting. Reminiscent of upscale restaurants in Shanghai and Hong Kong.

“Dependably Delicious!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2012

We ate upstairs in the Akari room. You can sit in booths, or if you have a group that's game, you can sit in one of the lovely tatami rooms - very traditional, shoes off, sit on cushions at the table, et. Regardless of where you sit, it's a lovely atmosphere and they have lovely, soft background music playing.

Sushi is always quite good - I'm a spicy tuna fan and always get a spicy tuna roll and the avocado tartar with spicy tuna.

The service is usually pretty good. I believe they've been trained to push the alcoholic drinks - so do be prepared for that.

Tip: You are also able to order off of the Chinese Menu - this is perfect for our family
We also like to grab a quick bite here sometimes before heading over to the Wayne Movie Theater to catch a flick.

Enjoy!

“OK but service is ragged”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2012

Good chinese food. Spicy dishes are not all that spicy unless you tell them to really kick it up. Service is spotty.

“Excellent food, but somewhat pricey.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2012

The food is always excellent. The prices are high, but it has atmosphere and a very friendly wait staff.

“Authentic Chinese Food with so so quality”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2012

We went there during the holidays for dinner and was not impressed.

1) When we made the reservation, we asked for a duck dish that needs to be reserved; the waiter said they no longer make it; but when we get there, we were told they do make it as long as you call ahead. So whoever takes the reservation doesn't know what's going on.
2) The food was OK but not really that good; authentic Chinese dishes that you can get in Chinatown for half the price.
3) We ordered the Peking roast duck, $36; the server wraps them in Chinese pan cakes instead of letting us do it; but they are really slow; so after the first two, the rest are cold. (even the first two are just warm). And the quality varies, one of the ones I got has so many sauce in it, it is not edible.

In summary, might be one of the few authentic Chinese restaurant in the mainline, but don't think it's worth the high price and so so food. If you are visiting Philly, might as well drive 30 minutes to Chinatown and get something better.
