Clean, neat facility and room. Friendly staff. Called two other hotels in the area of Villanova University. Got no answer at one and no availability at the other. Was willing to settle because it was late and we needed a room. The Wayne turned out to be a fine hotel in a very nice area.

We picked the Wayne Hotel because of its location near my mother's retirement community and that it was a non-chain hotel. While it is just off a busy road, it is set back enough to be quiet and have a presence. Shopping, restaurants, etc. are all walkable.

The hotel is an older building yet decorated in new, hip decor and quite modern inside. The rooms are similarly well decorated and clean with the notable exception of the ceiling fan which was pretty dusty. We mentioned that small lapse and it was immediately cleaned.

Breakfast is included and is a nice plus. I'd term it continental plus as it included soft boiled eggs, etc. in addition to the normal bakery items.

The only small negative with the visit was that when we checked in the person at the desk mentioned the hours of the breakfast service, circled them and then said, "I'm doing this so you don't call down and ask what time breakfast is". Okay, but a bit brusque.

All in all a very pleasant place to stay in an area that has a dearth of quality small places.

What a wonderful place to spend a few days to get away from the rat race. I loved my cozy room on the top floor. The hotel was clean, updated and full of charm. It was warm enough to enjoy the large porch and sit in the sun and read. Dinner was absolutely the best, thanks for a great stay!

Room tip: Ask about the location and layout of your room, there seem to be many kinds. The website stated new modern showers and I was pleasantly surprised to have a nice cozy bathtub!

The Wayne Hotel is the best hotel on the main line. I have stayed here many times but not for about a year and I was pleasantly surprised to see they updated the rooms decor and have new beds making this my best stay to date. The staff (Tom, Janine and another young lady) have been with the hotel for years and are great. The location is great (close to The Blue Route and the town has lots of restaurants and a great coffee cafe a block away). The rooms are quiet, the beds super comfortable and free internet, parking, breakfast and paper which is nice. The only downside is there isn't a gym and the TV's could use HD updating but outside of these items the hotel is a good value and I would highly recommend staying here!

Room tip: Ask for a room in the back of the hotel is you don't wake up early

This is an excellent privately owned hotel. It is conveniently located in the heart town on Wayne's main street, Lancaster Avenue. The hotel has a warm ambience, with a fire always burning in its beautiful and homey lobby. It also has a very sophisticated restaurant, which is very busy and well patronized by the local residents, which is always a good sign. The staff is friendly and helpful. I stay here every time I am in the area.
