“A solid value and good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2009

CONs: Inexperienced or poorly trained front desk staff. Showers have the 'low flow' shower heads and the water is very soft. Difficult to get soap or suds off.

Pros: Hotel has been completely refurbished, although one of the two TVs in our room was an oldie but goodie. Convenient location to highways. Lots of parking close to the hotel. Breakfast included along with manager's special in the evening. Walking trails around the property. Breakfast staff very friendly and customer service oriented.

Good value for the money.

Ample free parking when i came in.
Very large room and very clean, but everything was mediocre. I wasn't very impressed, but I wasn't unhappy with anything either.
The sheets were very uncomfortable, the bathrooms were pretty average. Shower heads were a little sad though.
I didn't stay very long so I didn't get to try out anything else.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It gives you everything you need, a lot of extra breathing room and amenities, but not much else. Everything was just fine, it was just... mediocre at it.

  • Liked — very ample room, very ample parking
  • Disliked — low-quality sheets, shower heads, etc.

I think I messed up my last review so am resubmitting.

Just spent a week at VFS on a business trip.

The hotel is perfectly fine.
Cleanliness: It's clean, the lobby is open, clean and bright

Rooms: The sitting room is a little dated (wallpaper, telephones and furniture), but it had a nice newish flat screen TV. The bathroom has a nice updated look to it. There was a kitchenette with sink, micro and mini fridge. Ironing board, iron and hairdryer were there without me asking. The bedroom was clean, linens were nice, comfy bed and pillows. A free newspaper shows up at your room door every morning.

Location: In a nice area, close to the highway and close to shopping. We managed to get to the outlet center, King of Prussia mall, Target, a couple shopping center close by with restaurants and stores, passed a 24hour Walgreens on the way to the office.

Staff: The staff were very helpful and friendly with the exception of one waitress who didn't seem pleased that we walked in one hour before dinner service. But even then, she wasn't exactly unpleasant.

Amenities: They even had a shuttle bus to take us to and from the office which we used once because the route was not very complicated. Buffet breakfast was included every morning....eggs, omelets, hash browns, waffles, bacon, sausage, pastries, fruit, yogurt, cereal, juice.

Safety: the front doors lock at midnight, you need to badge in after that

Yes, they are doing renovations but we were not disturbed by noise or mess.

The property appears to be either an old Embassy Suites or perhaps a Courtyard that lost its brand name due to poor upkeep. It looks pretty good on the outside, but is really dated on the inside.

I travel a lot on business and am generally not too picky. This hotel was bad enough though (and the photos and some reviews decieving enough) that I thought I'd post

Check-in - service was pretty poor with the staff ignoring everyone until they're forced to speak.

One of my fellow travelers was a smoker (I don't smoke personally) and he had called ahead and was told that they had smoking rooms. They do not. In fact, they make you sign a large red area on the check-in form indicating that you know you'll be FINED if you smoke in a room. Not a big deal to me, but a really big deal to my fellow traveler.

The rooms are all very dated. They aren't unclean to the point of being unhealthy, but the bedspread on my bed had rips (one rather large) in it. The walls between guest rooms are paper thin (not much insolation). A guest in a room next to me was a sales person and I got to hear his 2-hour conversation with his boss while I tried to sleep. I considered complaining about him, but it was obvious that he was talking in a normal tone (not yelling or anything) and it was just that the walls were so non-insulated.

Internet access is all but non-existent. They use wireless in the rooms, but I could barely get a signal from my second floor room. The people I was traveling with were on other floors and had the same complaint. We used cellular cards due to the poor internet access.

Overall, I don't recommend this property.

We stayed 3 days and were not too impressed. The televisions in the rooms are from the 1980's and there's no excuse for such shabby equipment and crappy channel selection. The pool was recently renovated but we weren't the only guests who thought the water was too cold and it was unusable. Someone down the hall from us ordered room service, and the dirty dishes sat outside their door in the hall for 2 days. They allegedly are renovating the place, maybe we'll come back in a few years.

The hotel is a bit aged but was clean for the most part. My only complaint was that the sink was clogged and did not drain. Other than that this is an okay hotel for business travellers.

Stayed here for a week, staff was tremendously friendly. Rooms are great for a traveling professional, separate office space & bedroom, kitchenette (no microwave), bathroom is what you'd expect.

Bill the bartender was great, knowledgeable about the area and a great conversationalist. Definitely an asset, and I hope that Embassy keeps him in their employ when they take control at the end of the year. However, and I don't know her name, the woman bartender...not quite so personable, and she does not seem to care if her patrons are serviced or not.

Nikki in the restaurant - top notch. For a younger woman, she carries herself with a ton of professionalism. I watched her deal with several, shall we say, difficult customers and she handled them with grace and aplomb.

The restaurant's menu is a bit limited, however, if you're only there for a few days, you won't be disappointed.

Overall, I would recommend, I don't know what will change when it becomes Embassy Suites, but at least in its present form, VFS gets two thumbs up from this reviewer.
