“Great food and Atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

What a pleasant surprise. We went for lunch and very attractive historic building and interior.
The food was excellent and well presented.
We had the Salsiccia stuffed banana peppers the sweet sausage and spicy peppers with the sauce great flavor combo. The Caesar salad was individual crisp romaine leaves with just the right dribbling of dressing, ground pepper and shaved cheese. They asked us if wanted anchovies which we did and they added 3-4filet s. Also had one of their specially pastas Linguini Diavolo . It was tossed with lots of big shrimp pieces (which we preferred to a few whole shrimp)and a spicy tomato cream sauce. Once again the presentation added to our dining pleasure. A tall nest of pasta topped with fried basil leaf and served w/tablespoon and fork.
Will go back anytime in the area shopping at the outlets.

“Excellent! Truly First Class Food, Service and Atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

We were skeptical when we selected this restaurant for dinner. We had been to the bar for appetizers a couple of times shortly after these owners opened. While it was good, it wasn’t outstanding thus it never came to the top of the list when selecting a restaurant. This week, we really didn’t want to drive into downtown (Pittsburgh) thus we selected Palazzo. Now we are saying “What were we waiting for?!!!” The food was superb, the service near perfect and overall the dining experience went far beyond our expectations. We saw a couple of reviews on another site that were not so complimentary – calling it terribly overpriced. (if you want fast food prices, eat fast food) We did NOT find this meal overpriced. If there was one negative, our waitress neglected to ask, and we didn’t think to ask, for anchovies on our Caesar Salad. We will return to Palazzo without hesitation and do highly recommend it.

“Excellent Food & Drinks”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2012

Palazzo 1837 specializes in old-fashioned Northern and Southern Italian dishes, steaks, seafood, pasta, chicken, and veal. Its worth the drive from Pittsburgh at the corner past the Meadowlands Horse Track. We have eaten here a number of times and the food and service are always excellent. And don't forget the drinks which are always excellent too.

“The usual spot!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2012

I have been here 3x when I stay in the area for work. The food is excellent, and the specials are always something unique and not just a run of the mill special. The specialty drinks are made from fresh squeezed fruit, done in front of you…If you are still at the bar. Prices are fair, not out of the ordinary for higher quality food. I have always eaten at the bar/bar area and have had excellent service. This is a regular stop on my travels.
