“Fun!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2013

Take a ride, view exhibits, learn new things! I also think it would be a fun place to volunteer. The museum has been there for quite awhile and just keeps getting better!

“Step Back in Time and Ride a Trolley”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

This museum is fun for everyone from Grandma to small children. The ride on an old restored trolley brings back the days of childhood riding the trolley in Pittsburgh. Youngsters can get an idea of what the excitement was like stepping aboard to take a ride and hearing the clickety clack of the tracks and sway of the car as you made your journey to town. In Dec. Santa takes the ride with you to make it even more special. Our grand children love going to the Trolley Museum.

“A good choice if you have trouble walking”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2013

It can be very frustrating in visiting many attractions if you have trouble walking, but this isn't one of them--however, call the museum if you're in a wheelchair to see if you can ride the trolleys. There is a small museum, that doesn't take very long to go through--it's mostly pictures and placards of how trolleys influenced suburbia. Nevertheless, it's fascinating, especially if you're too young to remember those days. The intro. movie (about 10 or so minutes long) is definitely recommended as it helps educate us to how times used to be. After you're done reading the displays you can take a trolley ride. We were there during the August Washington fair, so all three trolleys were running on a very regular pace; it's my understanding this isn't usually the case, so you might have to wait longer for ride(s); I also don't know if it's usual practice to have all three trolleys running. It's a little pricey, but the Pittsburgh Entertainment book has a 2 for 1 coupon you can print out. It's very easy to find; signage is very good. This is an attraction I'm glad I attended, but feel no need to go back to in the future. Nevertheless it's a great reminder of what public transportation used to be; the old fashioned ads in the trolleys were a hoot! There's also a building where you can see many trolleys throughout the years--it's a stop available during your trolley ride. The volunteers there were especially excited; it's nice to see passion for the past.
