this is a very high end hampton inn with all amenities, clean, nice breakfast, free computer in lobby.
you should know about this hampton inns -
you can make a reservation with hampton inns on line or through their or a different web site, and if you request a non-smoking room, you can receive a written confirmation with non-smoking confirmed on it (all this we did). print it and bring it with you, for, upon check-in, you may find that a smoking room has been allotted to you, and you may be told (as we were) that that is what you had requested. further investigation will disclose that hampton inns is not guarenteeing you your requested and confirmed non-smoking room, but is, according to the fine print on your confirmation, only obligated to provide you with whatever room type they happen to have left available at your check-in, no non-smoking room must be held for you. if there is only a smoking room left , reeking of smoke, well, that is your room. so, if you have a real allergy to smoke residue, keep this in mind when considering a hampton inns. all this happended to us here.

Thank you for complimenting our hotel on being high end and clean with a nice breakfast! I am so sorry that you did not get the non-smoking room that you wanted. Unfortunately there are occasions when a travel agent or a third party website misleads guests to think that they are confirmed on a non-smoking room when all they really did was book the smoking room and put the request to switch it to non-smoking. Well, if non-smoking wasn't available when they booked it, what makes them think that it will be available on the day you check in for us to change it for you? Our number one goal is guest satisfaction, so we try our hardest but sometimes guests who are supposed to check out extend their stay and it throws our inventory off. Overall we do not run in to this scenario all that often, but when we do it is usually on a sold out weekend such as was the case with your reservation. Thank you for understanding and staying with us still. Please let me know if you are ever back in the area and I will personally see to it that you get that non-smoking room that you prefer!
