Staying in an old (1895) house with creaking floors and Halloween decorations was a kick. The fact that it's an excellent B&B made things even better. Convenient to the center of Warren (not that there's much of a town center), right on the main road (so you may hear a bit of rural traffic in the front rooms), this B&B boasts atmosphere, great hosts, and a superb breakfast. Definitely a good choice in this area.

Room Tip: Back rooms may have less traffic noise, although it's not really a problem anyway. I received a...

My husband and I took a motorcycle ride from our home up through the Allegheny Forest and stayed at The Horton House. What a beautiful place! Beautiful room. The rooms were comfy and pretty. The breakfast was awesome and the owner and staff were friendly! Can't forget Abbott, he is their lab who loves tummy rubs. Warren is a small and pretty town. Very close to Kinzua Dam. A beautiful ride on a fall day! Definitely would stay here again!!

My husband and I spent last night at the Horton House while on a fall foliage trip. The house is a gorgeous old Victorian with wonderful wood trim, pocket doors, and other original features. There were so many nice touches, from the refrigerator stocked with drinks (for a small fee) to the very comfortable queen bed to a substantial cooked breakfast served with cloth napkins and a silver coffee service. There are pretty gardens out back and the hosts and employees are very friendly and helpful. As others have mentioned, there's a lot of traffic noise on Rt. 62 and the bell in the county courthouse rings the hours. Probably both would be less noticeable in a back bedroom, but they didn't bother us at all. We walked to a wonderful dinner at The Plaza Restaurant, and on the way admired the great architecture of the houses built by the lumber and oil tycoons of the 1800's.

Room Tip: A back bedroom might have less traffic noise.

My new bride and I spent our first Thanksgiving with my family at the Horton House. I'm originally from the area but now live in VA, so we decided to stay at the Horton House for our first trip to my home town. The owners were so thoughtful and helped us to plan a fantastic Thanksgiving for my family. Very nice clean rooms and the third floor allowed for us to play like kids again.

Thanks for everything

People, generally go to B&B's for conversation and to gain knowledge of the area. The owner was very friendly, and helpful; we were hoping for the same with breakfast, but it did not happen. Speaking of breakfast, I won't say much, except it was below average. Our room as neat, clean, tidy and spacious. However, we were slightly, disappointed, with other areas that needed attentive cleaning, in the house. There was a charge for bottles of water and pop (soda), which is unusual, in our experience.
On the positive side, the shower was one of the best and the TV was a large flat-screen. A hot tub, outside, was in operation.

We stayed there on a Motorcycle Trip through western PA. Great hosts and you must definitely see the World's Largest Working Electric Guitar in their music room. Good restaurants in walking distance also a plus for us. Would stay there again.

This was a birthday treat for me and did not disappoint. If you like the B & B experience in big, old, charming homes, this fits the bill. Our host was gracious and helpful. The breakfast was superb. The hot tub was still available for use even though the area surrounding it was under some renovations, so if this is a concern for you, you might want to check out the status; it wasn't an issue for me since I wasn't interested in using it because of the extrememly hot temperature outside the day I was there. I was most interested in the air conditioning- which worked just fine! Overall, a very nice experience.
