“NOT WORTH THE MONEY”

We have stayed at 25+ campgrounds in the past few years... from state parks *practically free* to "resort" types... NEVER did we stay at a place that was such a rip off. For $50 a night there are TWO showers for the ENTIRE campground and only FOUR bathrooms- you are talking, hundreds and hundreds of people. Sights are RIGHT on top of each other and NO ONE respects the QUIET RULE. Bathrooms were small and dirty.

We stayed here with several other families for Heroes Weekend. Had a great time with the activities, including fishing in the lake. Was a bit disappointed with the site we were assigned for two reasons - 1) it was difficult getting into our site because of where the trees were located and 2) there was a huge collection of stagnant water right next to our site which was a huge breeding ground for mosquitoes. However, neither affected the trip in a negative way. We would certainly camp here again, especially with a group setting.

We were a group of 17 and this was our first time to Colonial Woods. We will surely return. We are tent campers and had a great time. We really lucked out on the weather (Labor Day weekend)!! The campground was clean and well kept. The sites were very spacious. We were adjacent to an open space that was titled "ball field". It was perfect for our group where all the kids could go and play. We challenged a neighboring group to a softball game and had a ball. The pool was HEATED which was really nice. It was so well manicured. Most went fishing and all caught a fish even the six year old. We participated in a few organized activities and can now claim to be the Scavenger Hunt champions!

My wife and I and our five children with an age range from 5 to 17 had a great time at Colonial Woods. The staff was very accomidating. We tent camped for three days. Insects (bees) were an issue but it is camping. We loved the pool. Go during the week when it is not so crowded. Ringing Rocks is a great place to visit, so is the villiage of Milford, NJ which is only a few minutes away. The bathrooms and showers are very basic, but they were always clean. The fishing was great. Fish hit your line almost as soon as your bobber hits the water. WiFi was not dependable. There is no good cell signal for Verizon. A very good time!

We stayed Sun-Sat at the end of July. The park seems more seasonal, but main entrance area and surrounding is for visitors, so we didn’t see much of the permanent folks. Biggest gripe was that the bathrooms are way outdated and small, but always very clean. Also, the pool (which had a very entertaining new addition) is really far from everything, so expect a commitment if you take the kids for a swim. Take a cooler, and you need your own chairs. Overall, though, the kids thought it was the best campground ever. They have daily crafts and evening movies. Big gameroom, nice playground, and the fishing lakes were great fun! (Skip buying live bait. Hot dogs worked better.) The sites were big and the gravel helped to keep them level and drain quickly. It was quiet with a couple of exceptions. The first night, a nearby rowdy group was quieted by the owners before 11. And things really picked up Friday night, as to be expected. There’s so much in the area to do, if you are up for a daily drive. Dorney Park, Crayola Factory, Valley Forge and Philadelphia were just some of our excursions. We were a little nervous after posts about the bathrooms and the sites, but needn’t have worried. It was happy memories for the whole family.

As a newby to the trailering camping we had to write a reveiw about this Campground.
Colonial Woods is one of the cleaness well run Campgrounds we have ever been to. We have been to many over the years as guests but this is one you have to put on your list. From the Outstanding Staff to the the beautifully groomed landscaping you will be impressed. If you have younger children no problem. When they say quite at 10PM it's like a switch went off. We could here a pin drop out by our fire ring. I couldn't believe it to be honest. The sites are outstanding with all (except some), crushed stone and level.
The bathouses are very clean and neat. I have never seen wallpaper and courium counters in a bath house before and yes they do have them here.

owers are rude. rules are constantly changing depending on how you are. Not tolerant of families with teenage children. great for families with LITTLE children, but not children over 13.
