“Paradise Found at The Artist's Inn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2011

This was our 7th stay at the Artist's Inn and we look forward to many more in the future. We were celebrating our anniversary this stay and had an absolutely wonderful time! The room and the inn were comfy, clean, and cozy...as usual. The breakfasts were delectable and delicious. The innkeepers were extremely helpful and hospitable and always ready to answer any questions or provide recommendations for sights to see and restaurants to visit. Nothing beats waking up to the beautiful sights of Lancaster farm country and the delicious smells and tastes of Jan's gourmet candelit breakfasts! We look forward to returning to our "paradise" found at The Artist's Inn.

We wanted a getaway and chose our first B&B, what a choice The Artist Inn turned out to be. The atmosphere is like being at home and you get quickly spoiled with Jan's delicious breakfasts. The soft music in the sitting rooms, the always full cookie jar, coffee pot and teas were a pleasant suprise. The suite was beyond compare for comfort and cleanliness. I do not believe we could ever go to a chain motel or hotel again. We will return here again. I would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing stay to not pass this by....Thank you Jan and Bruce.......Bob and Mooch

Room Tip: We stayed in the Rose Room, but saw the others and would choose any room available

Bob and Mooch - It was our pleasure to spoil you - especially after what you went through with all the flooding in upstate New York. Here's hoping for a little less rain in your future...and a chance to see you again!

The hospitality was wonderful. The food was amazing. Jan and Bruce were very helpful in telling us about the things to see and do in the area. Jan is an amazing cook and we really enjoyed the paintings and books by Bruce. The only complaint we have which really isn't much of a complaint at all is that the doors were kind of noisy and hard to open and close but it is an old house so it's expected we were just afraid to disturb other guests after 10 pm. The inn is beautiful and I know we will be back many many times to stay!!!

We admit we have had some issues with sticking doors this summer. Record rain and humidity swelled everything - including our fairly new metal storm doors! Sometimes a little hip action was required to open them. We're glad to report that the doors have gone back down to their original sizes and seem to be working better.

We were looking for a quiet getaway from the bustle of the city and we got more than we bargained for in this charming B&B. We stayed in the garden suite and cozied up on the private patio with a warm cup of cider. Jan even showed us a secret star-gazing spot to set up our telescope. The breakfast was fresh and delicious and set for royalty. We can't wait to visit again, and hopefully get to to meet Bruce next time!

Room Tip: The garden suite was amazing.

Christina and Jamie - Hopefully the next time you visit it will be a little warmer and you won't have to go out and buy sweats to sit outside!!!

We spent our anniversary at the beautiful Artist's Inn just a few days ago. It was one of greatest experiences we had( Despite us both recovering from being ill) Our suite was sooo beautiful, and Jan spoiled us by turning down the covers and places chocolates on the bed. She makes the best breakfasts too !! WE are looking forward to spending out next getaway here again !!! Thanks Jan, Bruce and Jack for a lovely time !!

We just spent one lovely evening at The Artist's Inn, wish it could have been a week! Jan made us feel their home was ours to enjoy. Our suite was charming, clean and very comfortable, had a wonderful view from our porch, and our room included all the added amenities you would want and then some. The breakfast Jan served was delicious and elegantly served. If you're traveling to Lancaster County, this is a perfect location to view our beautiful countryside.

Room Tip: The Garden Suite is a fantastic private suite for a special getaway.

Thanks for your kind words Rosa...it's especially nice when "the locals" visit our inn to "get away". Vacations are a state of mind, no matter where they are a located.

My wife and I have been staying at The Artist's Inn since 1999 -- 11 times now, if you count this past weekend. We keep going back because Jan and Bruce are such gracious hosts. We never feel rushed or like we are a bother. The 4-course breakfasts are beyond compare. If only we could retire in Terre Hill, and have Jan and Bruce as neighbors. If only...but this is the next best thing. We like the inn so much that we plan our stays nearly a year ahead of time, and when the time gets close, we count the days. We simply haven't found better, and we've tried a bunch. Thanks Jan and Bruce, for another lovely visit.

Room Tip: If you like hearing the clip-clop of the horses pulling the Amish buggies by the house, choose the K...
