“The King Suite was fantastic!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2014

We absolutely loved the Clarion Inn. We reserved the Jacuzzi King Suite online & paid that rate in advance, but when we got there, we were told that apparently the jacuzzi suite isn't available online, it is only available by phone (even though we paid for it). Fortunately, the front desk personnel were really kind and were able to switch things around and get us in our room! The room wa spacious and well kept. Everything was clean and taken care of. The bed had lots of pillows and we had plenty of towels also. The jacuzzi was huge! The jets are really powerful (water went flying!), so be careful. The grounds were really nice also. We sat in the 2 lovely gazebos and swam in the pool (5ft max). Although it has all the modern conveniences, it is located right next to rural farmlands. You can see cows and barns from the parking lot! We really enjoyed our time and will definitely visit again.

At the price point we found this hotel to be a good value. The location is good for touring the Amish country and the setting of the hotel is very nice. As mentioned by others the facility shows it's age in places but it was clean and comfortable. The TV had issues but the desk blamed this on the cable company.

The Inn is a great location in rural Amish country on 3-5 acres of land with value. The setting has an amazing view of the country side to NW and the small village of Strasburg to SW. You are 5-10 minutes from Sight and Sound Theater, train ride and museum, 5* food of like Good and Plenty, Heresy Farm, Bird in Hand Market, Plain and Fancy & other cool attractions in Intercourse, PA like Kitchen Kettle. If you desire fast food hwy 30 is close too. This is a 50 year old property so it is not the Hilton or Marriott. The Inn has a nice outside pool and ample gym. However, the buildings need significant repairs in some locations like painting and gutter repairs. Most rooms require you to walk up or down one or more flights of steps. Some rooms doors open to outside and others to a hallway. My rooms was clean, decorated nicely, adequate lighting, a great bed, a nice size bath with two sinks and many towels, and a simple TV remote control with many channels, I found my HVAC to be loud and one night it did not work; I reported to the office. Some housekeeping needs to be improved such as halls, blowing off outside entrances, parking areas daily and trimming limbs where cars park. The breakfast is excellent with a variety of foods which opens 7-10. The hotel staff is friendly to answer questions and a good quick check in and out process. I attempted to seek the GM on several occasions, but he was not available. However, I did leave my suggestions with his subordinates. Several individuals informed me of their good dining experiences at the restaurant and many cars were parked in the dining parking lot on our first night which was prime rib night.

Room Tip: no basement floor rooms

Located just a few minutes from downtown Lancaster (& right next to many other local attractions), I stayed here the night before our hot air balloon ride. The lady who checked us in was very friendly & informed us it was "celebrate Lancaster day" downtown, which we did go to. The hotel is obviously old, but has been updated and our room had cathedral ceilings, a frig, a microwave and a coffee pot. The bathroom was clean and there was both inside and outside sinks. We ate at the hotel's restaurant and the was excellent. I would stay here again.

Truly a beautiful place clean comfortable and pet friendly. Great breakfast too. Off of the over commercialized path that Lancaster has become. Would definitely stay there again. Walking distance to historic Strasburg.

We were there for 5 days/4 nights for a wedding. There were over 20 rooms booked for attendees and it was requested that all the guests be put in the same block of rooms. It didn't happen. Management said they had no obligation to do so! However that is just good customer service. As a result, when things got noisy, mgmt threatened to kick everyone out - all 50+ of us. A situation that never would have happened had they honoured the request to put all the wedding attendees in the same area. We were all scattered in various buildings across the property in spite of there bring rooms available in the same building. This was so disappointing. The wedding even took place there and still they were immovable. Having worked for a large hotel chain I found their attitude arrogant and rude. It left everyone with very bad feelings towards the inn. Add to that several customers found clothes and a cell phone under beds and in drawers left by previous guests which would lead us to believe they are not thoroughly cleaning the rooms. Our safe was locked and the toilet toll holder had been pulled off the wall by the previous guests and we had to bring it to their attention. This should have been caught by the cleaning staff. It's too bad as the location is lovely though the hotel itself is somewhat tired looking. Breakfast was good and saved a trip into town. But there were several paths which had bricks and spikes sticking out making it hazardous.

Thank you for sharing your visit to our hotel. Unfortunately your account of your stay is not accurate and is very disappointing. We strive for 100% guest satisfaction and none of the issues you described were brought to our attention. Your group however was very inconsiderate of other guests and local ordinance rules. It unfortunate that management did have to ask your group to disperse at 1 am in morning.

STAY AWAY! We checked into the Clarion on Friday June 13 , needless to say we should have known better to travel on Friday the 13th! We where right smack in the middle of a horror movie !
Upon first initial inspection of our room , it seemed clean . Bathroom was clean no mold room looked nice and mattresses look clean even had liners on them . I put my 7 month old on the bed to change his diaper prior to going to eat dinner , when I saw a bug on the bed ! I quickly picked my son up , I then picked up bug with a tissue and placed it in a cup. Upon inspection it looked like a bed bug , we took bug to front desk they told us no this is not a bed bug . They then began to describe what a bed bug looks like. We asked for another room and they told us there are sold out so we took there word for it and went to eat dinner . After dinner we went back to the room , and I was not comfortable with room at all ! I did another inspection prior to bringing in our luggage. What did I find at the foot of the bed on the box spring ? BED BUGS!
The hotel did pay for our entire stay at another hotel to compensate what we went through , having to find another hotel with vacancy on Thomas the Train weekend at 10 pm at night with small kids and dog was helpful but our entire weekend was ruined moving rooms at new hotel to accommodate out short notice stay .
I will never attempt to stay or recommend this hotel ! It's sad to say because it is situated in a beautiful location .

Thank you for sharing your visit to our hotel. We appreciate feedback and strive for 100 % guest satisfaction. However, your assumption of bed begs is an unfair and inaccurate account of your stay. Strasburg is a farming community surrounded by prestine countryside. The bug you found in room was a harmless stinkbug , which are unpreventable in the country. As a courtesy we did relocate you to another facility and upon professional inspection found that no bed bugs were in the room. We apologize for your misunderstanding of the insect found.
