“Flowers, trees!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2013

Beautiful Arboretum set on an extremely scenic site. It is small enough to manage in a short time, but large enough to be worth your time in walking around.

“Unwind”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2013

Great place to visit while you are in the State College or University Park area. Located along Park Avenue adjacent to The Pennsylvania State University. Don't forget to visit the Pennsylvanis State University Creamery, within walking distance, for a taste of the world recognized ice cream and dairy products. The arboretum is located on the grounds where the flower gardens used to be located. Easy access and free parking, open to the public for looking, learning and exploring. Nice selection of plant materials. Hope to see more plant species added in the future. Great place to take some photos and not overcrowded. Make plans to visit these easily accessed grounds. One of the few free things to do in life.

“nice place to learn non-native plants”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2013

I have been following the growth of the arboretum since it first opened. I'm happy that it continues to open new portions and host new events however i wish there was more native plants there. I like to visit to learn about plants but when they only have plants and trees that are non-native to PA, it makes it hard to use what I learn.

“Gorgeous”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2013

We didn't know what to expect. From the outside it looks half done and small. Parking the car you think "well this won't be a long visit - can't be much to see". What a surprise when you walk into the garden! It is truly a work of art. We ended up spending nearly two hours admiring the plantings and the design that swept you from one secret garden to another!! And it really IS only half or less finished! The future plans are mentioned on the information board at the entrances. And each looks more interesting than the next. This should not be missed! I can't wait to return!

Lovely, clean, well organized & educational. Can't wait for the children's section to be completed, it will be wonderful educational experience for them as well. Free to visit, lovely for prom pictures & weddings.
