Jim's is one of the main attraction quick food places in Philadelphia's Head House Square. It serves the traditional cheesesteaks ("with," of course) at a lightning pace downtown. It competes with Geno's and Pat's (both located in South Philly) for tasty cheesesteaks.
Fortunately, we have one in Springfield. Even if you don't call ahead it's only a few minutes wait while they cook up your order. However, it can be a longer wait if there is a line, and there frequently is at dinner times. If you order fries (theirs are very good) you wait anyway, even if you called in an order, since they don't cook them until you order them.
It's worth it. The sandwich itself is very tasty and one of the best around here (except for the ones I make at home!). They have other foods listed on their menu, but I've never had anything but cheesesteaks here. That's a clue as to what they are all about. (I have to mention their best competition: Slak's, across the street and up one block. But I still give the honors to Jim's. Just saying.)
