“Lovely B&B, perfect stopping place in PA”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2012

My husband and I stayed at Quill Haven Country Inn in July while en route to Chicago. We had a lovely experience and my only regret is that we did not arrive earlier in the evening so that we could have spent more time exploring this beautiful part of the country and enjoying the hot tub. This place is a little oasis of kindness and relaxation, and Carol and Roland are friendly and welcoming. In addition, the accommodations were extremely comfortable and immaculately clean, and the food was delicious. We plan to go back for a full weekend to enjoy the B&B and explore the Laurel Highlands.

Wonderful respite from the Pa Turnpike while traveling from Va to Ohio, Carol and Roland's comfortable home was a welcome stopover point for our trip. This was our first stay at Quill Haven, but it's so convenient and peaceful that we will make it a regular rest stop. We visit Ohio at least twice a year to see family and this is a midpoint for a break from the boredom of driving a long distance. Carol's breakfasts alone are worth the visit and I heartily recommend them. Next time we hope to see the goats and some goat milk recipes from Carol's kitchen. Thanks for a great stay!

Room Tip: We enjoyed the Rose Room

This b&b was an easy and picturesque 45 minute drive to Falling Water and Kentuck Knob and away from the extreme business of other towns nearer to those sights. Lovely hostess, breakfast and room.

My husband and I spent three nights at Quill Haven Country Inn on our way home from Connecticut. We have stayed at many B&Bs over the last 20 years, and Quill Haven is now one of our favorites! It exceeded all our expectations.

We stayed in the Rose room, which was large, very comfortable, and spotless. The house is set back from a busy street, but the large yard and beautiful landscaping make the traffic almost unnoticeable. Breakfasts were delicious, and the food was plentiful!

Carol is a friendly and delightful innkeeper. After breakfast each day, she sat down at the table with us to chat. She provided lots of helpful information about things to do and see in the Laurel Highlands.

We really enjoyed our stay at Quill Haven and hope to come back again soon!

My daughter and I stayed at Quill Haven Easter weekend 2012. The breakfasts were delicious. The rooms are beautiful and cozy. Carol is very personable and helpful. She gave us a lot of information on getting to our sight-seeing sights and what to see. We loved the farm-like atmosphere with the goats and chickens in the back of the property. We liked it so much, we made reservations for Easter 2013.

From arrival to leaving, Carol made our stay most enjoyable and relaxing. Quill Haven is decorated tastefully and provides the normal amenities and more (heated bed mattress, for example). Breakfast was very tasty and made us feel very special--Carol is an easy conversationist and joined us for a while. The home is located just on the edge of town, enough for them to have great space and room for a few small farm animals. Although 2 other rooms were occupied, you were hardly aware. It is definitely a place to recommend and we will consider again when in the area.

I cannot believe what a little jem this place is. We spent the evening at 7 Springs and decided to stay overnight. We called Carol (the owner) late and asked for a room. She was completely welcoming and accommodating. We truly felt like we were visiting friends.

The rooms were totally charming and impeccably clean. The breakfast was lovely. The double blueberry muffins were the highlight for my husband. I would definitely recommend making the trip to Somerset. Thank you, Carol. We look forward to returning soon.
