Description: The Georgian Inn of Somerset is listed on the National Registor of Historic Places. Built as a private residence in 1915 by a prosperous coal and cattle baron, the mansion was designed for entertaining. The mansion has been restored to its original grandeur and opened in 2010 as The Georgian Inn of Somerset. We also offer afternoon tea, luncheon tours, fine and casual dining and tapas with wine pairings. Outdoor seating on the terrace is available, weather permitting. A tour of the property discloses the luxury accommodations in a number of rooms and suites. All rooms offer a private bath, cable television, WI-FI and a selected breakfast as part of each overnight stay. In addition, facilities are available for business meetings, weddings, bridal or baby showers, birthday parties, wedding anniversaries or any private party.

Each course was very good. The wine selections were not high quality. Service was prompt and accommodating.

“Pricey, very good food & could use some flowers!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

Always strange when looking at restaurant reviews for a location and the #1 is this and the #2 is Eat'n'Park! i was in the area on business and this appealed to me more than option #2, so I stopped in. It was a Wednesday evening and there weren't many diners, but the staff was very attentive and friendly. I ended up having a conversation with the people at the table next to me (which I normally don't do - but they spilled water in my direction - looking for an opening!) and we both remarked that the dining room was lovely, but really needed flowers - to keep it from being a bit starkly historical looking. The food was very good - I had the Georgian salad ($6 more than the tossed salad that would have come with the entree, but I wanted to try it -- not really worth that price difference at all) and rack of lamb, which was cooked perfectly and had a variety of fresh and appealing grilled vegetables, plus garlic mashed potatos. So - a bit somber and over-priced, but a very nice setting and very good quality food. I may try option #3 next trip, though!

So glad that you went with option 1. It is nice that you got to experience the mansion in it's quiet and more private atmosphere during a week day. We are happy that you took notice that we were missing flowers. We refuse to put out anything less than standard and at that time they were so we dicided to go without. We are delighted that you enjoyed your dinner and hope that you will stay with option 1 next time!

“An unexpected treat-”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2012 via mobile

A beautiful Georgian estate house , perched on a hilltop. So reminiscent of our recent stay in Killarney Ireland. The bar was busy and the restaurant sleepy, but our server was attentive and sweet. Both the bar and the kitchen were out of things- jack Daniels? One of the specials?
But our food came beautifully prepared and presented. The 1940s radio shows were an interesting way to send us back to a bygone era. The wine list was reasonable and broad enough to find something nice. We enjoyed our delicious meal - I highly recommend you ask for risotto with the duck rather than the potato.
We left as the sun set- next time we want to spend the night. Pricey? Perhaps for the area. But in line with what we might spend for the same meal in dc-

“exquisite, husband says”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2012

LOVED this inn! The dinner was high-end, exquisite, expensive but we don't regret it. The onion soup and Chicken with lingonberry were out-of this-world.

“Came For Dessert Only”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2012

Being quite pricey, we thought we'd spend a visit after dinner elsewhere and just order dessert. It was awesome!! A semi sweet dark chocolate mouse over a chocolate cookie crumb base with decaf coffee as a side. This mansion and its surroundings are a sight to behold.
