“Clean/Great Value!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2013

This was a fantastic hotel. Clean, fresh, and welcoming. Room was spotless, linens and towels were fresh. The free breakfast was typical "microwave bag" food, BUT, it was free, so worth it. Good variety of food too! Overall, I would definitely stay here again.

No surprises here. Typical comfortable room. Typical breakfast. Located next to Turnpike but was not aware of any turnpike noise. Does not have one of their little Hampton Inn stores where you can get ice cream and snacks.

We've stayed at this Hampton 3 or 4 times in the past and will continue to use it when our travel calls for us to visit relatives in Pittsburgh. The hotel is clean and quiet even though the location is close to the Pa.Turnpike. Checking-in is such a delight as the smell of popcorn makes one feel at home. Checking out is a breeze....The staff is extremely courteous, what else would one ask for....

I have stayed in dozens of Hampton Inns, which is the least luxurious brand in the Hilton portfolio. The rooms and decor are fairly standard throughout the brand.

The location is conveniently right off of the Somerset exit of the Pennsylvania Turnpike, although it's a little tricky to get to it. You can see it, but the roads are a little confusing, and my smart phone's directions led me in a circle until switched to dead reckoning.

This particular location had friendly and helpful employees. Check-in was swift, but I was unable to obtain an upgrade (I have Diamond status in the Hilton HHonors program) because they were full.

The room was typical--neither the largest nor the smallest I've had at a Hampton Inn. The bathroom was clean and updated, and there were plenty of clean towels. The king size bed was comfortable, and the television worked. The closet and storage space were limited, but that is typical for a Hampton Inn.

Breakfast was the standard hot and cold buffet that is free when staying at a Hampton Inn. Unfortunately, they ran out of yogurt on the second (Sunday) morning, but this was not a big deal.

A major plus is the outdoor pool. It's not very big, but it's very clean and very inviting. Pool towels are available at the front desk. There are chaise lounges and a few sets of tables and chairs, so it's also a nice venue for an outdoor lunch.

I asked for and received a late (2:00PM) checkout so that my girlfriend and I could have lunch by the pool before going home. We had the pool to ourselves, which was nice.

There are plenty of nearby restaurants where you can get takeout, including a Sheetz gas station that makes decent sandwiches and salads. The folks at the front desk can give you suggestions for restaurants.

We were actually staying there while attending an event at Seven Springs Mountain Resort, which is very nice but not in the Hilton HHonors program. It's about a 20 minute drive.

Just stayed here for the night while visiting Fallingwater. The room was very big, very clean, and nicely decorated. No problems whatsoever and I'd highly recommend to those in the area. They even had little directions cards already printed out for Fallingwater!

Here are the good things:
- Check-in (with a reservation) took literally 45 seconds. A receipt was under our door in the morning, so there was no check-out at all.
- The breakfast includes eggs, waffles, etc., so it's more than pastries and coffee.
- Our room was large, modern, and clean. Nice bathroom.
- Plugs! Plenty of plugs all over the room. Three between the two beds.
- Fruit, popcorn and chocolate chip cookies in the lobby on arrival.

Could improve:
- The outdoor pool was very cold and had band aids floating in it.
- We like the Hampton Inn breakfasts, but their eating space is always less than needed. It's served at a buffet, but at times it was hard to move around with so many people in such a small space.

All in all, Hampton Inn is $25 or so per night more than other chains, but probably worth it because the rooms we've had in several different locations are consistently clean and well kept.

This was a great place! We arrived late and were able to check in and get to our room within minutes. We were weary travelers and the room was a welcome sight.
The hotel is very clean, the staff was helpful. The only advice I would give is to try to get a room away from the highway (PA Turnpike)- as it is noisy even at night. Also ask for a room away from the elevators if possible.
the breakfast was great- and everything was stocked and delicious. There was plenty of seating.
