“Best place to stay in Lancaster!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2012

Been coming to Lancaster for about 8 years with my Mom. First year, stayed in a chain hotel and hated it! The next year we found the Old Road Guest Home, and it's been our 'home away from home' ever since. Dave and Gail are so friendly, and always have a new place for my Mom and I to explore. I highly recommend staying here to anyone coming to visit Lancaster, Pa. You're always welcomed with a big smile and a warm hello! :)

We have stayed at this bed and breakfast for over 10 years. Gail and Dave(owners of this guest home) make our stay so enjoyable every time. They are warm, friendly and accommodating. I would recommend this b and b to anyone who wants to relax in beautiful Lancaster, PA.

Room Tip: Rooms on the back side of the house are quieter because they do not face the road.

Thank you so very much, Gail and Dave for our WONDERFUL getaway. Both of you were so very warm and friendly. We're know that you have met many visitor throughout the years, but you certainly made us feel very welcomed and special. We loved the balcony overlooking your absolutely, fabulously, beautiful yard and gardens. We felt such peace. Thank you both for sharing your knowledge of the town and where we could find good places to eat. Thank you Dave for telling us where to get fresh, whole milk. We did do that. Overall, our stay with you and in your cozy room was well worth the effort to drive to Penn. Thank you again and God bless you for having such a great place to stay. Rebecca and Art Henderson

Room Tip: Beautiful view from balcony. Peaceful and serene. In the center of everything!! Wonderful host...

In June 2012, as part of our 50th wedding anniversary celebration, we spent four nights at Old Road Guest Home and toured the Lancaster County area, taking in smorgasbords, shops, theater shows, etc., all recommended by the most friendly and helpful host & hostess we've encountered at any B&B in the area. The accommodations are very clean & comfortable, the home is warm and welcoming, and the gorgeous gardens in back provide a most peaceful & restful place to enjoy your breakfast in the outdoors, or just relax to the soothing sounds from the water garden. We appreciated the softly-playing inspirational music in the dining room during the breakfast hours, and we often enjoyed sitting on the front porch, watching the Amish folks drive by in their horse-drawn buggies. This is a really beautiful place to stay in Lancaster. We highly recommend it, and will definitely return here on our next visit to the area.

We love Old Road. Always our first choice of lodging in Lancaster. Gail and Dave are wonderful hosts and have become luke family over the years. Beautiful home and grounds. Peaceful, tranquil, and relaxing. If rooms aren't available, we change the dates of our trip if possible.

We stayed at Old Road Guest Home for 4 nights in October 2011 and found it to be a very comfortable, well cared for, clean home. Our hosts were very friendly and helped make our stay in this lovely area a very informed one. If you are interested in finding out about the Amish way of life this is a perfect location as it is right in the Amish area of Pennsylvania. We went on a tour (which our hosts organised) with a lovely Mennonite lady which was very, interesting! We would recommend this home as a great base from which to tour this area.
