“This was like staying at Grandma's house but better.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2009

The four of us were warmly greeted when we arrived and it just kept getting better. It was a holiday weekend and Maryann and Juliann were lovely hosts including us in a private birthday party! The candlelit breakfasts were wonderful as well as the other guests staying there at the time. Their suggestions for activities and restaurants were spot on. They even suggested we have a bonfire and provided the makings for s'mores. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can't wait to go back.

We were very grateful to have found this comfortable and convenient accommodation which is about 30-40 mins from Fallingwater in a beautiful part of the Laurel Highlands. Hosts (Maryann and Julieann) are very easy to deal with by email to plan your stay and we found them to be honest, reliable and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. They really went out of their way to be helpful, including customised suggestions reagrding current events in the area! We would feel confident recommending Trenthouse Inn as offering good value to other travellers to the area.

Just a couple of miles away from the slopes of Seven Springs, this lovely bed and breakfast looks like something out of a Christmas postcard. You can tell that one of the owners used to be an artist because the inside is decorated with incredible taste and artful elegance. Speaking of the owners, you couldn't find more gracious and welcoming hosts. The bedrooms are comfortable, impeccably clean and charming. The breakfast was delicious. I would definitely recommend this bed & breakfast to anyone.

This was our first bed and breakfast experience and it has completely changed the way we look at vacationing. The best thing about the inn was the service, maryann and juliann were absolutely phenomenal. Thier 5 star breakfast is a hundred times better than any continental breakfast I've ever had at a hotel. The rooms were spotless and very comfortable. We could not have asked for more during our stay. We went skiing at seven springs and the distance to the resort is very little. It was a 5 minute drive. In the past we have stayed at somerset, but after this weekend I think that is a thing of the past. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a romantic getaway at a fantastic price. A totally unforgettable weekend.

Needed somewhere to stay close to Frank Lloyd Wright's Falling Water and his Kentuck Knob homes. I found this inn on Trip Advisor website. I dealt, through emails with Juliann and a phone call, daughter of Maryann who lives in house and takes care of the guests on arrival and during their stay. Juliann was most helpful with email directions on how to get there and promptly answer any questions. A most welcome place due to the gracious hospitality of the 3 generations of Maryann's family which includes Maryann's mother. It was approx a 30 min drive to Falling Water from the Inn. Kentuck Knob a further 5 miles from Falling Water. The breakfasts were delicious and lovingly served by Maryann with unexpected companionship due in part to the fact that I was the only occupant at the time. The bedroom was on the ground floor as requested and immaculately decorated and most comfortable with its ensuite bathroom. As a lone traveller,I would definitely stay there again if only to meet up with my 'friends @ the inn' who made me feel most welcome .

A wonderful stay! Maryann, the owner, was so gracious! The ultimate host! We were greeted with delicious smells from the kitchen and mellow music in every room. Beautiful grounds with a pleasant (1 mile?) autumn walk through the woods to a stream and a view of the lake at the park next door. She had loads of ideas of things to do and places to eat. Treats and coffee when we got back from dinner. She was very accommodating, offering to let us arrive early (since there was no one in the room before us), and holding the room for us until we decided whether we could stay an extra night. (Unfortunately, we couldn’t.) The house was beautifully decorated. It was obvious that she put a ton of work into renovating and decorating it. Had a tour of the entire house, including the unfinished attic where she is planning more rooms, including a deluxe honeymoon suite. Delicious breakfast of stuffed french toast (and more), but she wouldn’t share her recipe because she wants us to come back … which we will!!

  • Liked — The hospitality and decor
  • Disliked — Grounds still needed work, but she's got big plans there too! (And I don't doubt she'll complete them.)

We enjoyed our stay at the Trenthouse Inn and highly recommend others. This is one of the better B & B's. Excellent acommodations especially when traveling to 7 Springs. Also enjoyed the owners kindness and home cooking. I am actually craving that special breakfast. I want that recipe! Thanks for everything. Joya
