“Great hotel!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2012

Stayed at hotel for 2 nights. Staff was so friendly and patient cause there were a lot of us staying there. Rooms were big, clean, and beds were comfortable. Loved having the shower and one sink in one bathroom and the toilet and another sink in a second one. Breakfast was hot and bar had good drinks and good munchie food in the evening. Overall great hotel!

I (with my family) stayed in this hotel at the beginning and end of a trip to the northeast (2 weeks apart), and this one of the best places I have ever stayed at. I travel frequently on business but this was a family vacation and we reserved 3 rooms. We were all extremely impressed! The staff were very friendly and helpful, even when we arrived at 2AM and asked for a crib. I don't recall ever seeing anyone as quick and friendly as the lady who worked the breakfast buffet, she buzzed around keeping everything well stocked and had a warm smile to greet everyone! The rooms were spotless, well maintained, and very comfortable, complete with refrigerator and microwave. I would give my highest recommendation to stay at this hotel to anyone going to the Philly airport area. It is a little further from the airport than some of the other hotels (about 4-5 miles), but well worth the trip, and they have a shuttle if necessary.

The free breakfast and airport shuttle were the reasons I chose this hotel for my parents stay before a flight out of Philly. I booked the 2 queen suite and they were impressed with the cleanliness and layout of their room as well as the updated and fresh look of the hotel. My Mom commented that the beds were wonderful and my Dad enjoyed the "full breakfast".

As always, I read the trip advisor reviews before I arrived for an 11 day business trip. My company booked the stay and I am so glad they did! Some of my co-workers had stayed here before and had mostly positive things to say. I travel frequently with stays of 10 to 60 days common so my point of view is from an extended stay vantage point.

There isn't anything within walking distance but there are numerous eating establishments with-in a short drive that were great. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly and suggested some places that were wonderful. Of particular interest is the Little Hut Sandwich Construction shop on Chester Pike about 2 miles away. Best cheese steaks in the area! I also had food from the Stargate Diner and Venice Pizza which were great. There is a Wal-Mart and large grocery store within a short driving distance and a few fast food establishments in the area. The front desk hands out a very informative list of local businesses with detailed directions so make sure to ask for it.

The hotel itself is clean, modern, comfortable and well maintained. Of particular note was the wonderful front desk staff who went out of their way to be friendly, helpful and courteous. Also, the breakfast room attendant (Susan) was fantastic, friendly and always made sure the breakfast room was well stocked and always asked if anyone wanted anything else when serving hours were over. The food itself was the standard items you find in the better hotels like this with good choices for about every appetite.

I worked nights while there and requested a quiet room at check-in and they put me on the top floor away from the elevator and stairways. The house keeping staff never once disturbed my rest, they are so quiet and attentive. Also, I mentioned my refrigerator wasn't cold and they had one of their guys fix it on the spot. I can't say enough about how welcome the staff here made me feel. Atmosphere is important to frequent travelers and this place was wonderful! The manager has surrounded herself with a staff that knows how to treat guests. Kudos to all!

The room itself was a king bed suite with a living room type area and spacious work desk with separate lighting and plenty of electrical plugs and a handy computer cable. Internet was always easy to access with good connections and speed. The furniture was clean, comfortable and the appearance of the room was appealing. The bed and pillows were VERY comfortable and I liked the wardrobe cabinet with the drawers and shelves, very usable. Nice iron and ironing board in the room and plenty of space to set it up close to open electric plugs.
The TV had a bizillion channels and built in guide and I had no difficulty using the remote. The alarm clock radio had an MP3 plug and adjustable brightness, very convenient.

Another unique feature is something I wish more hotels had. The bed headboard featured small reading lights on flexible arms that made it great for reading in bed. All in all my room was comfortable and inviting.
The shower was large and both the shower room and the separate toilet area with small hand washing sink had positive ventilators that were hooked to the light switch, no fogging of the mirrors. By the way, privacy would not be an issue as these two rooms had sliding doors which is space saving.

One other feature was the shuttle service that was available for local restaurants as well as the airport. I used the service twice and it was convenient with friendly drivers and quick response time. There are bus connections and train stations at the airport which make going into the city easy and inexpensive. This hotel sits just off of 291 (Industrial Highway) between Sellers and S Stewart with easy access to I 95. This place is conveniently located and has plenty of well lit, free parking. There are numerous outside entrances so parking close to a key card access door is easy to find.

Also, there is a small bar in the lounge area with drinks and snacks available. There is a guest laundry room on the 3rd floor with two large washers and dryers for $1.50 per load and they have timers so you know when your laundry will be finished. Laundry supplies are available for purchase at the front desk.

The work-out room was spacious, modern and conveniently located next to the two large elevators so you don't have to walk through the lobby all sweaty! The pool was kind of small but had an overhead dripping fountain that was unique and when it got dark, the ceiling put on a light show, very relaxing! I noticed mention of no shades in the pool windows in a previous review but the windows are a good distance from any walkway so lack of privacy was not a factor for me. The business center is oddly located in the first floor hallway but the computers were easy to log onto with no viruses and a fast printer that printed clearly.

I was there for 11 nights and I would have liked a larger refrigerator and microwave but with all the other amenities and the friendly staff, this would be the place I would want to stay at if I'm ever in the area again!

Room Tip: Top floor even numbered rooms would be the quietest.

Stayed here twice in Oct 2011. The hotel is a quick 10 minute or less drive from Philly airport. It's very clean, staff is excellent. Rooms were very nice, had everything you would need. If you need a place to stay close to the airport this is the best place hands down. There is a pool, gym, bar, the front desk has drinks and snacks.

This place is great. One of the managers is an Auburn University grad, which was nice for this girl from bama to see! :)

The beds here are fantastic. The decor is very modern and bright. Everything was clean and there was space to work as well as just chill and watch television. The bathrooms are designed to maximize space giving you a larger shower. Also, it is nice that the potty is in its own closet, which allows somebody to utilize it while another is showering.

The location is close to the airport which was my main concern when staying here. The free breakfast was also well stocked and got the job done.

Some readers love the decor here, but I didn't. In fact, I disliked it so much I don't ever want to stay at this hotel again. If all new Springhill Suites will have this interior, I'll have to look elsewhere.

To be specific, in addition to turquoise (even the benches outside are turquoise), it's for people who like chrome, plastic (headboard was green plastic), formica, "edginess," and what I guess is an attempt at the "Mad Men" look. Truthfully I've seen it done better elsewhere. It has all the ambience of an airport (which is maybe what the decorators were aiming for, given the location). I couldn't get to sleep because I had the feeling I was still in my office because the room felt like a large cubicle.

On the good side, and why I give it three stars instead of two or lower, the large walk-in shower was terrific. And kudos to the very helpful and friendly lady who was working in the breakfast area on the Sunday morning when I stayed.

Room Tip: Absolutely NOT the place for a romantic getaway. There is nothing cozy about this hotel. It is Funct...
