“A Nice Stopover on the Way to Niagara Falls”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013

If you're driving to Niagara Falls from the DC area, you ought to consider heading up through the middle of Elk country in Pennsylvania rather than sticking to the interstates. It's just as fast and a much nicer drive.

If you do and are looking to break you trip into two days, we highly recommend you stop in Ridgway and stay at the Towers Victorian Inn. It's a great B&B type small hotel, and we thought it was quite a bargain. Rooms are only $85/night on weekdays.

Our bedroom and bathroom were spacious, nicely furnished, and very clean. Our bed was comfortable, and there were more towels and pillows in the room than we could have ever hoped to use. Our room looked out over the front yard, which was quite attractive. The room had air conditioning and a gas fire place, but the weather was so pleasant while we were there, we didn't use either.

The common areas are very attractive, and the woodwork in the parlor and dining room is stunning. You'll find snacks, wines, cookies, and soft drinks available in the parlor at no charge. Breakfast in the dining room (eggs, sausage, fruit, breads, cereal, etc) begins around 7 am.

Just like you'll be told when you make a reservation, if nobody happens to be around when you arrive, don't despair; your room key and welcome packet will be waiting for you on a hook in the entry way.

There is an interesting main street and few antique stores, specialty shops, and restaurants within walking distance, and there are menus for the restaurants in the parlor and rooms.

Parking is in the back of the inn, so you'll need to drive around the block when you arrive. The entrance to the inn's parking lot is clearly marked.

Great stay in a wonderful spot. The rooms were large and spacious, the parlor/game rooms well appointed and breakfast at the large table was scrumptious. We did not need the fireplace, but it looked welcoming. The large bathtub in room 5 was very, very relaxing with plenty of hot water!
We stayed overnight in preparation for a canoe trip on the Clarion the following morning. Highly recommended, there is plenty of parking in the back.

What a great B & B in a delightful small town! Super nice friendly people everywhere! Made a last minute call to Towers and was greeted with a happy friendly voice so nice! Made it easy to decide to stay! Upon arrival greeted immediately and given a gorgeous room! The house is lovingly restored so sit in the parlor and have a wine or brandy all complimentary and play a game of chess! Harks back to a simpler time! Great breakfast in morning in lovely restored dining room fresh fruit , quiche toast and homemade breads all fantastic! Just can't say enough nice things about the whole experience! A must do if passing through Ridgeway Pa we certainly will again!

It was intersting to come upon this jewel of a town with it's beautiful downtown buildings, courthouse, and mansions. We stayed in the Nina Ravenscroft room, It was lovely with lots of room. The B&B staff recommended local restuarants which were good and a local tour guide (Bob Imhof) who was outstanding.

We stayed at the Towers Victorian Inn on the way to Niagara Falls, and we were so happy that we stayed here. The town is lovely, with many Victorian homes throughout. We stayed in the Nina Ravenscroft room, it was very clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable. The entire house is gorgeous with lots of wood detail everywhere, but that made sense when we found out the house was built by a lumber baron.

We enjoyed sitting on the front porch with another guest who is a frequent customer since he has business travel in the area. The complimentary water, soda, beer, wine and snacks are a nice touch. Breakfast was good, we had a tasty breakfast casserole to start our day, along with fruit and various breads.

Our rate was $80 a night, unbelieveable for a B&B of this quality. We will definitley stay here again and have already recommended it to friends & family.

The GEM of the Elk-viewing area of PA!
My husband and I stayed at the Inn for 2 weeknights at the end of April, a few years ago. I am still amazed at the staggeringly low prices! We were lucky to have met the friendly owners, Dan and Dale, on our visit. They are both wonderful and interesting people.

The Inn, inside and out, is simply magnificent. Lovely gardens, and a lovely porch with tables and chairs. The interior decor is all antiques; with painstaking restorations throughout.

The rooms are comfortable and beautiful. We stayed in the lovely Nina Ravenscroft room on the second floor. There were cold drinks in a little refrigerator in the parlor, wines on a table, and candies and cookies in dishes, for guests. The breakfast was wonderful.

If you are free during the week, treat yourself to the weekday discount; you deserve a pleasant shock!

Make sure to visit The Towers Victorian Inn, if you are out for some Elk-watching; and don't forget to stop at the Benezette Hotel Restaurant and Tavern for some fabulous food and laid back ambiance!

I chose to stay at the Towers Victorian Inn because I had a business meeting in Kane, Pa and there are limited options for hotels in the area. The price of my stay was very reasonable. Ridgway is a very nice small town that has retained quite a bit of its original charm. The homes throughout the town are amazing and the streets are well kept tree lined to the point of looking like a movie set. The Inn was very nice with original woodwork and architecture. The decorating in the Inn was somewhat dated to the late 1980's rather than 1880's, but it could just be that it wasn't my taste. The rooms were very clean and to my surprise large. As a female traveler, I felt comfortable and safe in the home and surrounding area. My only complaint was that breakfast was a bit disorganized and really pretty minimal (some fruit, toasts, self made coffee a bit of scrambled egg). It was fine for me needs but not up to par with what I would expect from a B&B. Overall, I would stay at the Inn again when traveling on business.
