Stayed at the lovely Inn on two separate nights with my Mom and sister on the way from Canada to and on the way back from the Lancaster County area.
Jay, his wife and their dogTucker proved to be wonderful hosts and started off our visit positively by accomodating us with a late arrival time.
We stayed in the quaint, beautifully decorated Blue Spruce room which comfortably accomodated all three of us and had an in-room bathroom (albeit very, very small - but it did have a shower). The beds were very comfortable and provided us with a well deserved night's sleep.
Breakfast was quite good, with a couple of hot dishes being served along with cold alternatives. It was served starting about 8:30 which was a little late, however, in all fairness we did not ask about eating earlier. The visiting and socializing at breadfast was extremely enjoyable and is definately a benefit of B&B accomodations. The option of sitting and/or eating breakfast on the large, friendly front porch is nice and even though it was a drizzly day, we took advantage of that option.
The B&B is a lovely 19th century home with character. The huge front porch sells the place by itself. While a house of this age does require a ton of upkeep (what old house doesn't), and this house is no exception (needs some exterior work and maybe a little decluttering), the little things that may have needed attention did not mar our experience.
Being a dog person, I immensely enjoyed the company of Tucker a Norwegian Elkhound, who was very social and enjoyed being with the guests. The hosts were, however, prepared to accomodate guests who may not be as comfortable with dogs. If you are allergic to dogs/don't like dogs, you may want to enquire about the secondary location, however, be aware that breakfast is served at the sight where Tucker lives, but talk to the hosts about this before eliminating this B&B as an option because of the presence of a dog. We did also spy a cat in the house late at night, but it did not seem to want to have anything to do with us.
All in all a great stay and we would definitely consider staying here again if we are in the neighbourhood.
Blue Spruce room is a great room for accomodating 3 adults.

Thank you for your compliments on our home. You are right that "Victorian Ladies" need their upkeep but for us it is an ongoing labor of love. We are glad you enjoyed our breakfasts and had great travels for your plans. Come back again to relax on our porch!
