“Old style charm with modern comfort.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2010

I love this hotel. It has been updated to include modern amenities, but they retained the old charm and character of the original hotel. Service is always superb. Great spa, great location, great food. Love the Sunday brunch.

My husband and I stayed here for our son's wedding. A block of rooms were set for us. When I booked I asked that we be next to my in laws as they are quite elderly. Upon arrival we were told we would have to wait in order to get a room next to them. I explained they needed our help and that it wa essentail that we be next to them. That was not possible. We were able to stay on the same floor after the clerk moved another party to another room. I will say it is a nice hotel but not worth the price. We had a basic room that you would find at any medium priced hotel. The furniture in our room was all nicked up. The marble bath was not what I expected it to be. The bathroom is very small. The marble was cracked in many areas of the bath, on the floor and on the walls. The staff was very pleasant and that is really the only thing I can say that is positive. I would suggest you stay else where. If we had known I would have asked my in laws to book another hotel.

This was our first stay at this hotel, where we celebrated our anniversary.

The staff was very accomodating, upgrading our room and sending up a bottle of champagne when they learned the nature of our stay. We stayed in a two-room suite looking out the back of the hote with a view of Mellon Square Park.

The room was very clean, but it was a little on the cool side with the thermostat seemingly having no effect.

We would definitely stay here again.

Out of all of the hotels that I have stayed at, the Omni was the most luxurious hotel that I have ever seen. It was very posh and we definitely felt like royalty. The rooms were quaint but very clean. The bed was Very comfortable and they even provided us plush robes for our stay. The concierge was very friendly and helpful for booking restaurants and general tourist information. The only thing we could have used was an indoor pool, but other than that we had a great stay and will definitely go back.

Hotel of historic significance and lovely interior. However, very expensive with less than stellar service and care of customers. Cold building with no ability to adjust heat. Room not cleaned until 4PM with careless housekeeping. Indifferent service. No working computers in business center - yet fee charged. Would not return.

This is a great hotel. The rooms are decorated very well, and the staff is ultra-helpful and friendly. We stayed too many times at the Marriott City Center, and are overjoyed that we finally decided to try the William Penn. It's now the only place we'll stay in Pittsburgh.

Omni William Penn has a lovely lobby; staff is nice and helpful; check in is very fast and easy with Select Guest; rooms are nicely decorated and always clean (although sometimes very small, and dimly lit); food in the restaurants, as well as room service, is very good; and location is great for business trips to downtown Pittsburgh. Although hair dryers are provided in the rooms, I would recommend bringing your own.
