When we got to the restaurant, there was quite a crowd, so we knew it would be a long wait. We got there at 7.30pm, with a party of five. We were told it would be 50 minutes to an hour. A couple of us went to nearby stores to while away the time. Wait, wait, wait. After 50 minutes with no red buzzer, we went to ask how much longer - we were told another 30 minutes. So the buzzer went off after a total wait of 80 minutes (had we known, we would not have waited).
When we got to the desk, ahead of another party of five, who had come after us, we were told to wait some more. Then they took the other party before us. What?
We were at a booth with one seat in the passageway. The wait service was pretty slow too. We each had two courses and ate pretty quickly. The food was ok, but not special at all. We ended up leaving just after 10.30, which gives you an idea of how long this whole thing took.
The excuse was they had a party of sixty.. Ok, but we saw them leave a good half hour before we were seated. A popular restaurant should be staffed to handle capacity on a Saturday night and when the sixty left, things should have clicked right along. It didn't.
