“Holy Brew”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2009

Others have summed up the highlights well. I will add that it is nice to see that this restaurant has found a unique and novel way to preserve the beautiful architecture of northern chruches.

“Okay Experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2009

We went to Church Brew Works on a Saturday night around 7pm. We had to wait about 45 minutes for a table as they do not take reservations for small groups (we were a group of 4). When we were seated we immediately ordered pizza, as everyone has told us their pizza is excellent. Our waiter told us that it would take 1 hour to have pizza made and she suggested we order something else. We were slightly disappointed since their pizza was part of the reason why we came. Nonetheless, we ordered other food because we were very hungry after our long wait. The food was great. Next time, I guess we will have to show up earlier to be able to order pizza without a long wait!

“Great Atmosphere...Great Pizza (beer ok)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2009

I love the Church Brew Works. Probably one of the coolest atmospheres of any Brew Pub I have ever been to. It is located in an old Catholic Church on Liberty Ave in PIttsburgh.

The beer there is ok. I am pretty picky on my beers and have never gone to CBW for the quality of there beers. BUT!! They have some of the best Pizza ever... So I will always go there and order a Pipe Organ Pale Ale (my favorite, but the Dunkel is good too)...and one of their signature pizzas!!
