“Good vegetarian food, deplorable restroom”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2012

Not being a vegetarian, I was delighted to have such good food served, at such a reasonable price. The place was quite crowded and a little noisy, but bearable. It isn't unreasonable to expect a restroom, that doesn't make you quiver. If you can survive, without using the restroom, all the better. They could easily raise the prices slightly, and do some remodeling.

“Funky restaurant with good food, sometimes good, sometimes snarky service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2011

Funky restaurant with good food, sometimes good, sometimes snarky service. Very interesting and tasty food. Decor is sort of garage sale chic. I would prefer a more streamlined look, but the food is good and not too many choices in Pittsburgh for vegetarian. Call ahead, they seem to have somewhat erratic hours.

“Would not go back again”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2011

I have been frequenting the Quiet Storm for about 10 years now. Although the service has almost always been pretty terrible and the taste and quality of the food is kind of hit or miss, The Quiet Storm is one of the few full veggie restaurants in Pittsburgh so we chose to keep going back and supporting a local business. As of late though it seems the staff has gone from just slow and inattentive to downright rude. After being lied to, having a complaint completely dismissed, and then watching a staff member blatantly bad mouth us to another customer I am not sorry to say that I will no longer be giving The Quiet Storm my business.
Unless you are young, hip, and more into looking cool than getting good food and good service I would avoid this place. They charge too much and care more about keeping up a hip appearance than they do providing a good experience for their customers.

“Good vegetarian food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2011

This is one of those small, neighborhood places that you wish would be closer to where you live. It is a great vegetarian restaurant with a quirky atmosphere. The food is very good. The milkshakes are even better. The menu has enough selections that everyone should be able to find something that they love. I recommend the home fried potato dishes. It is more like a base of boiled and smashed potatoes with a variey of toppings and also includes a layer of tofu or scrambled eggs. The vegetable burger is excellent. The cuban sandwich had a lot going on but was good overall. There are a variety of different drinks.

“Delicious brunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2011

We were looking for a weekend breakfast place not far from the Pittsburgh Glass Center, and Quiet Storm was perfect. The atmosphere is thrift-shop/eclectic; the food is vegetarian and/or vegan. We're not vegetarians, but have found that vegetarian restaurants are often a good bet-- cleaner, with fresher ingredients.

We sampled the lemon/raspberry pancakes (excellent); a kind of corn pudding that came with sweet potatoes and bananas; and a scramble that included eggs, potatoes, other veggies, vegan cheese and "sausage", and a not-bad-at-all horseradish sauce. We had read some reviews decrying the service as erratic and spacey; this was not our experience. Coffees and water glasses refilled before we could empty them; food and check delivered promptly. The servers were pleasant and seemed invested in the food and happy to be there.
