“Last Hurrah”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2013

We were able to get in last Thursday, one night prior to their closing. As we understand it the restaurant will not be open to the public any more. People may host private parties there utilizing their catering service.

We will miss it as it has been a favorite.

At least we had the pleasure of one last hurrah.

“Great little find”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

We had a party of 10 for dinner on a Friday night and were given a large room upstairs - we ordered off of regular menu and everyone enjoyed their meals. Fish was good, pasta was good. Great service!

“Classic Pittsburgh Restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2013

The Common Plea is an old school restaurant with some really excellent food. The menu is primarily Italian, with some nice twists. The Bolognese sauce is very tasty, sweet and meaty. Their fresh pasta have a lot of flavor and just right consistency. I'd also recommend their pizzas, made fresh at their pasta bar. The crust is thin and flavorful, and toppings were plentiful. Service at the Common Plea is friendly and professional. If you're in downtown Pittsburgh, the Common Plea is well worth a stop.

“Very Arrogant”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2012 via mobile

I tried to stop in and have a drink on a Saturday night as it was close to the Omni William Penn, the bartender just dismissed me, calling me "Kid", and said they were closing which wasn't true, how arrogant and old boy he was, go to the Taprooms, nicer place, better people!

“Worth the long walk”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2012 via mobile

I solo lunch here occasionally, but we eat diner here together. As we live downtown, we can walk to many restaurants. The Plea is one of the furthest away, but even in the dead of winter we make the walk as we love it here. Food and service is top notch.
