“A PGH ICON you have to try.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2011

Pizza in this Iconinc resturant is served one and only way. Sicilian square cuts with the toppings put on cold. Don't knock it till you try it!!! They have been doing it this way since the 40's and it still is as good today as it was when I first tasted it some 40+ years. They don't use some tired old pizza sauce. It is all chunk tomatoes on a sqaure crust that has 28 cuts per. Then after a trip in the old style ovens your toppings are put on cold where the heat of the pizza melts then to perfection. They have limited seating but the best is to get it to go and let the old style paper box do the melting. I doubt you'll get out of the parking lot before you dive into it. Their hoagies are also old school and just as good as the pizza. If you like light cheese let them know cause they normally pile it on. Extra napkins is a must have. If you are in the "burgh' don't miss this spot on Banksville road.

“The most unique pizza in town!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2011

Betos is a must stop for me when visiting Pittsburgh. I was surprised to see a new building, but still experienced the great taste of their unique pizza. The square slices with tomato chunks and an abundance of cold shredded mozzarella cheese on top completes this delicious meal. I bought a tee shirt to remember this visit which was boxed in a pizza to go box.

“Hip to be square...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2011

Unique doesn't begin to describe a slice of Beto's pizza...At first glance, there's nothing special about a square of crust topped with tomatoes and unbaked toppings...But, oh my -- the taste is incredible...Fresh tasting all the way...Beto's is not your traditional pizza...The dough is baked with slices of canned tomato on top -- then garnished with handfuls of cheese and toppings right before serving...The cool toppings, hot crust, and barely melted cheese are a mouth-watering experience...I've never eaten in -- but there's a small dining room...The parking lot is tiny and awkwardly shaped...There's always a crowd -- which is a good barometer for the quality of the food served...

“Uniqueness is probably best selling point”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2011

After going to Beto's a half dozen times and reading some of the reviews on here, i've come to the conclusion that people fall into 2 different camps with Beto's: Those who have been eating it for years and love the fact that it's unique, and those who feel it's an average pizza with some raw cheese on it and nothing more. While I do enjoy Beto's every once in awhile and they do have decent wings and hoagies, i'd have to say I lean more towards the latter group. Worth a trip to see for yourself though, and those who swear by it will tell you i'm crazy for giving it anything less than 4/5:)

“Since I was 4 years old it's been Beto's Pizza, I am 48 now!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2010

Still the famous and unique Beto's Pizza. My father always brought Beto's home when I lived in Beechview Pa as a kid and I just returned from a visit there after 30 years, and had Beto's 4 times!

The memory flashbacks involved with sights and smells and the unique taste of Beto's I guess will live forever in ones soul!
