“The Absolute Best Diner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2014

Had breakfast with a friend at Central Diner. She had never been there before, but I have been several times. My friend was very impressed with the good abundant food, quality service and reasonable price. I was also pleased when the server offered to substitute a fruit medley for the home fries which would normally have accompanied my omelet. By the way, the fruit was quite good. Definitely keeping Central Diner on my list of restaurants to visit again.

“Huge portions, well prepared food.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2014

Went for an early dinner. We both ordered pastitsio. I had a side Greek salad. The lettuce was very crisp. A generous amount of feta cheese and Klamath olives topped the salad. My husband had chili instead of salad. There was a generous amount of meat and beans in it. He said that it was home made. It got a thumbs up. Our pastitsio were huge. I took half home. They were well prepared with quality ingredients. Delicious! Our server was really friendly and helpful. We would definitely go there again.

“Soooo Much Food, So Little Time (and capacity)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2014

Had lunch here today on a business trip. Forget the menu, just look at the plates coming out of the kitchen - this is serious food in mass quantities.

I had a Western Omelet and home fries and they were great. Frankly, I wanted the Reuben, so I'll probably go back for dinner tonight. The food is great - service is stunningly fast.....

You cannot go wrong - period. Everybody leaves with a box.

“Excellent!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2014

The Central Diner is one of the best diners/restaurants in the Pittsburgh area. Even though the food is a little pricey (but still reasonable), it is well worth it. Excellent service and atmosphere too. Just go: Yes, it's that good!

“Come hungry”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2014

The Central diner and grille is located in the Robinson township area of Pittsburgh. The place is usually packed with cars but it is very spacious inside and very clean. They offer Greek entrees in addition to regular meals.
On this visit I had a bowl of their delicious French onion soup along with a spinach salad that was topped with eggs and bacon. Portion size is enormous. The waiter staff was friendly and helpful.
You can see in the entryway their dessert cakes which are at least 7 layers high!
They offer Greek moussaka along with other related dishes.
Sandwiches come with French fries and Cole slaw. For $1.00 more you can substitute sweet potato fries.

I normally try to come during off peak hours. There isn't any wait and service is fairly prompt. Just make sure to ask for a doggie bag if you can't finish it. Portion sizes are enormous!

Please note they do offer free wi fi on their premises.
