We are members and love going to the Carnegie Science Center. There are so many displays and things to do here. We recently went on April 5, 2012. We are a family with 3 girls (ages 10, 8, and 5). We watched 3 demonstrations relative to food making/preparation all involving science principles. The kids learned science and then got to eat the results! There is a great kids play area on the fourth floor. The Buhl planetarium has daily shows. The Miniature Railroad is open daily. There is an IMAX theatre for watching awesome movies (additional charge). Interactive science displays at evey turn. There is also the Sportsworks building adjacent to the main building where the kids can see the science behind all their favorite sports. So much to see and do!! Every time we go back, we find something we haven't seen the time before. Oh, and did I mention, you can tour a submarine. Absolutely a great time for all. We rent a locker for 50 cents, place our home packed meal inside, and then come back when we are hungry. There is ample room inside or places outside to enjoy right next to the river. Can't go wrong with this attraction in Pittsburgh.
