“Great Food ......Great Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013

Theresa our server made for a great all around experience! Seafood Risotto was outstanding with ample portions of Lobster, Shrimp, and Scallops. My wife's special for the night Gnocchi with Veal was great tasting and ample portions. The bread pudding desert was probably the BEST we've ever had. Pricing was a bit high but well worth it. Recommend you try this fine dining just a 2 minute walk from the Fairmont Hotel.

“our first visit but we'll be back”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

This was our first visit to Vallozzi's, but we'll definitely be back. The restaurant itself is attractive, divided into a set of smaller rooms which provided some intimacy. We started our meal with some excellent mozzarella appetizers and meats from the charcuterie, and then had excellent veal saltimbocca & veal scaloppine for our main course. Service was prompt and attentive, and the Italian wine suggested by our server was a nice complement to our entrees. Our understanding is that this location for Vallozzi's is only a year or two old, but it has the feel of a well-established downtown restaurant. With a visit, and moreover, they take reservations on OpenTable!

“crab cakes are some of the all-time best!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2013

Just got back from a week and Vegas with some great dinners, but Vallozzi's was better than any meal we had in Las Vegas. Hands down one of the best meals ever and I'd consider this restaurant to be a special occasion destination. Loved the alfresco dining with the exception of a few characters on the street walking by. The crab cakes are some of the all time best! Artichoke appetizer was delicious and the shishito peppers are a nice menu addition. My wife's ravioli was delightful. Service was quite good and everyone was quite helpful and friendly.
Will likely try the Greensburg location in the near future.

“Our 1st time. Fabulous food, excellent service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013 via mobile

Don't pay attention to the overall ranking. Vallozzi's is one of the finest restaurants in Pittsburgh.

We dined there on June 8th before going to the arts festival. We had never been to Vallozzi's before. We left very impressed. First Greg J our server was super. His suggestions were spot on and he was very attentive (do you hear me Texas de Brazil). He asked if we had any time constraints, which we did not, so we thoroughly enjoyed a nicely paced meal ( Do you hear me Mallorca).

We started with a Neapolitan pizza as an appetizer, "The Rick" at Greg's suggestion. The pizza crust is made out of FILO dough which gives the pizza a slightly sweet taste, which blends nicely with the tomato sauce and pepper toppings. It also has shredded filet mignon on top. Very tasty.

My wife ordered the Tuscan chicken, which was tender & juicy. She rated it excellent. I had the buttermilk fried chicken. Now I am not ordinarily a fried chicken person, but I got turned on to buttermilk fried chicken at Poogan's Porch in Charlestown, SC and hadn't seen it on a menu up North, so I decided on that. I was thinking about the homemade gnocchi but went with the buttermilk fried chicken which was fabulous! Additionally it came with gnocchi served in a cream sauce with Swiss chard and Roma tomatoes. Simply delicious.

Mt wife, who loves tiramisu ordered the homemade tiramisu for dessert. She rated it the "best ever".

The only negative and this is more along the lines of personal taste was that she found the white peach Bellini had a little too much champagne for her liking.

While Vallozzi's is not inexpensive, for what you receive, excellent food, outstanding service in a very nice decor, we didn't feel that we overpaid.

Thanks to all for a fantastic dining experience

“Good choice in Pittsburgh”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2013

On past trips to Pennsylvania, I have enjoyed many a good Italian dinner at the Vallozzi’s Restaurant in Greensburg. So, I was intrigued to try their newer (?) location in Pittsburgh. My wife and I were not disappointed.
The restaurant décor is much more modern than the more traditional Greensburg place, befitting a location in the downtown Pittsburgh area. We enjoyed cocktails at the bar and decided to have a lite dinner there as well. The bartender recommended a charcuterie selection, with some interesting and tasty Italian meats and cheeses. Accompanied by warm breads, all was great!
