Until now I have NEVER been served spoiled food in a restaurant. Not even at a fast food restaurant, or a cafeteria, or a sketchy buffet. This was the worst quality food I've ever had in my life! DON'T COME HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET SICK!!!
And just to be clear, I am one of the most easy going, un-picky eaters you'll find. Before this I've never sent a dish back or complained about ANYTHING in a restaurant, even if I'm not a fan of the food. And I LOVE Thai food. If you serve me the wrong dish? I'll eat it. Serve me something overcooked or burnt? I'll eat it. Serve me something bland, overly seasoned, or too heavy? I'll eat it. But serve me SPOILED FOOD???? DISGUSTING!!!
The first dish that came was the wonton soup. For whatever reason, it came in chicken broth. Now, I have a very good sense of smell, and I do quite a bit of cooking. If you leave raw chicken in the fridge too long, it'll start to get start of a funky chicken-y kind of smell right around the same time it starts to get slimy and nasty, and then usually by the next day it will be full blown rotten. The chicken broth in this wonton soup smelled strongly of that funky, borderline rotten smell. I was so grossed out I couldn't eat it, but I really wanted to give them the benefit of a doubt. Maybe it was a fluke. An honest mistake. Maybe I was just crazy. So I didn't say anything.
Next came my dinner. I ordered the Thai Foon House Fried Rice (a stir fry dish with chicken, sausage, beef, etc). As soon as I caught a whiff of it, I knew it had turned. It smelled like a petting zoo. But I still couldn't believe that they were really serving me spoiled food. Maybe it's just me? Maybe I'm crazy or sick or pregnant? So I tasted it. It tasted like road kill. Still thinking I might be the crazy one, I had my husband try it. Usually he has no problem eating food past the expiration date as long as it's not festering. Even he agreed that there was something off about this dish.
At this point I was so grossed out by the smell that I had to push the dish completely to the other side of the table. I totally lost my appetite and couldn't eat anything else even when the waitress offered to replace it with something else. I was really polite about sending it back because I knew it wasn't the waitress's fault. For the rest of the night I felt like I was on the verge of puking, and about an hour later I had explosive diarrhea. I know that's graphic, but I really just want to emphasize that it is not worth it to eat here. You'd be better off eating fast food leftovers or garbage picking out of a dumpster.
This place would have been nice in theory - Americanized Thai food in a casual dining atmosphere - but there is a serious issue with management if they are serving spoiled food.
