We were in Pittsburgh to attend a Pirates/Phillies game. The hotels near the ballpark were either booked or very expensive. We had a nice King suite at the Cambria Suites and the room was great. It's a new hotel so everything was nice & new. Our mini suite had a king sized bed with lots of pillows, as well as a pull out sofa bed. There were 2 TVs, a fridge, microwave & coffee maker. The bathroom was awesome with Bath & Body Works toiletries.
The only slight negatives were that this hotel is located kind of far from a lot of touristy things. It was about a mile walking to the ballpark, each way. A bit of an uphill walk on the return, but still doable. Lots of people also walking back from the game, so it seemed safe enough. There weren't any restaurants nearby. We were able to walk around downtown, but a lot of eating places in the business district aren't open on weekends. But it was no problem driving to other parts of the city to explore, possibly b/c we were there on the weekend. I would definitely recommend staying there for events at the Consol Engery Center or if you don't mind going out to explore different parts of the city.
