“Best hotel we have stayed in the US!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013 via mobile

We stayed here during the Marathon and it was an excellent choice. The location is great! We walked to the Children's museum. We went to a Pirates game across the street and when my son was tired we just simply left the stadium and were in our room within 15 minutes as it is across the street.

The hotel room was super clean, loved the fluffy white bedspread, the kitchen was a great bonus. Housekeeping even washed dishes that we left in the sink. The breakfast was the best, no other hotel we have been to beats their breakfast. Wireless was free. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

I would easily rate this one very good except for the traffic noise. The property is surrounded on two sides by a major interstate. In my case the elevated roadway was perhaps 300 feet from my window. There was a curve and probably a slope in the highway right there. The noise from downshifting trucks went on all night. While the sound insulation in the hotel was good, it was not good enough. I had requested a quiet room and got the worst possible one.

Room Tip: There are rooms that don't face an interstate. Call the hotel directly and hope that they will...

I apologize for the inconvenience you experienced during your stay. We are unfortunately hassled by the nearby interstate from time to time. We do everything we can to make sure accomodations are quiet, peaceful, and comfortable. We attempt to meet all of our guests' requests especially for a quiet room, but at times we may assume that what we consider quiet is not the same for our guest. This is an issue I will rectify with my staff. We do have rooms facing away from the highway, and if you have upcoming reservations, I would like to offer a helping hand. Please contact the hotel and ask for me personally. (412-321-2099/ri.pitrn.fds@marriott.com) I will be sure that your next room is a more comfortable one.

My husband and I stayed here this past weekend for a getaway weekend. Chose this hotel due to the great reviews which are spot on. Great hotel. Very clean with a really friendly staff. We had a one bedroom suite on the top floor which was really nice. Went to some of the restaurants down the block so it's conveniently located. Due to the snow, it was like having the town to ourselves. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights while in town for a Steelers game. The location is perfect as it is close to the stadium and across the street from PNC park. There are wonderful restaurants nearby and the location is perfect for families. The Rivers Casino is also within walking distance. The hotel itself is brand new and lovely. They were sold out of suites, so we booked a king room for the three of us. The room was large, divided into sections with with a pull out sofa (family room area) and full kitchen. It was perfect! You don't need to bring a thing since they provide everything from paper products to dish soap. The staff was very helpful and the hotel also provides a shuttle if you need to travel short distances. They also provide a very nice complementary breakfast in the morning. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to the area and look forward to staying there again.

Thank You for the review!!! I'm glad to hear that you were able to enjoy your stay even though we were sold out of the larger suites. We do book those quickly especially for Steelers' weekends. I'm happy to know that our staff was helpful to you! We pride ourselves on giving each guest the attention they deserve! Thank you for mentioning that you'd refer us to others!! Happy New Year from the Residence Inn Team!!

Stayed here in a one bedroom suite, room was spacious, new and very comfy! The staff at the front desk were excellent and very helpful. We were staying here for the last home steelers game and it seemed as though the entire hotel was here for the same; very good location being right next to PNC park and one block from Heinz field!!
Would definetly return to this hotel! Parking is onsite and secure
The only negative I would say is the breakfast...not enough and they shut it down the two mornings I was down there at least 10 minutes before time was up...really not nice when they had a full line of folks waiting for more!!

Thank you for your recent posting. I'm sorry breakfast was not open long enough. New Year's Day we did keep breakfast up until 10:30 am when we normally end at 9:30 am. I 'm not sure if that was one of the mornigs or if it was after the Steelers game Monday morning. Again, I apologize, breakfast was available long enough the days you were here. We appreciate the comments and hope to see you again in the future. Happy New Year!

My husband and I took our two 20-something daughters on a Steelers game/New Year trip, and this hotel was great. The "10" rooms (210, 310, 410 etc) are 2-bedroom suites with 2 baths, full kitchen, dining table and "family room." Very clean, lots of space, comfortable beds, good views from higher floors. Okay fitness center with the basics: treadmills, ellipticals and a nice indoor pool. The hotel is very clean, comfortable, friendly service. Decent breakfast included. No bellmen or covered parking if you need it.

Room Tip: If you're traveling with kids or another couple, ask for a two-bdrm suite.

This hotel is very new and fresh. Marriott really has marvelously changed the theme if many of their hotels. Our room felt like a condo. It had a kitchen (minus the oven) and a nice dinner table. The bedroom was its own room with a door and I felt at home. Beautifully done rooms. The TVs are HD and huge too! This hotel also allows pets which is a huge plus if you are traveling with pets. The service was wonderful as at most mariotts. Location is unbeatable. HIGHLY RECCOMEND THIS HOTEL.
