Waffle cone was light and crisp - delicious. I won't spoil the surprise in the bottom. Ice cream was creamy smooth and flavorful. D-LISH!!

“Best in Pittsburgh”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2012

I know you've heard it before, but Dave & Andy's has the best ice cream in Pittsburgh, by far! I especially love the M&M at the bottom of every cone.

“Homemade cones with chocolate 'surprise' are to die for.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2011

I've been coming to this ice cream shop for years and it never fails to disappoint. They make their own ice cream and cones and you can smell the fresh cones down the street. The waffle cones really are delicious and portions are reasonably sized; the single scoop cone is plenty for me. You can order different hand-dipped flavors in one cone to satisfy multiple cravings and they've always been pretty good at giving samples of a flavor if the line isn't too long. Keep in mind that this place will be packed by undergrads from the local universities as soon as the weather is warm enough for ice cream; you'll find that the line goes far down the street during the first warm nights in April.

The biggest problem I have with the place is that there is absolutely no parking available unless you can grab one of the coveted street spots. So for those of us commuting through who might like to make a quick stop for a treat on the way home, this is a bit of a problem and know that you need to plan on finding parking and walking to the store. But if you're in the neighborhood and are looking for good frozen treats, skip Rita's and the other frozen yogurt places nearby and come here.
